Lia was slowly regaining consciousness as the sound of sirens and firefighters trying to put the fire out filled her ears before a pair of muscular arms carried her out of the Jet and onto a stretcher, she felt herself being pushed to an ambulance as she drifted into a dangerously dark slumber.
"Her Jet did what? Uhm okay prep a Jet for me I'm going to Wyoming." Mauricio said into his phone as his wife intensely looked at his defeated face "Why are you following Lia?" She asked "Mauricio tell me the truth." She added
"Her Jet crashed okay, thats what happened." He firmly said "Well, I'm coming with you Mauricio." Vanessa added "No stay here with Miranda and keep the that Giovanni boy away from my daughter, I'm leaving." He said as he gave her a firm nod and walked out the door and into his car that was on its way to the airport...

As Lia was being dragged into the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Mason was on his way to Wyoming and so was Mauricio. The doctors and nurses were all rushing towards her in a panic "She's not breathing I need to intubate." I doctor yelled but to Lia it felt like she was so far away "Her airway is blocked." She continued "Doctor Shay." A nurse called out "she's pregnant we have to check on that kid." The nurse continued
"Uhm okay take her up to the ICU beep the maternity ward and check for any burns, get a CT scan and a full body MRI send the results to my office." The doctor said as a tall man walked in wearing a crisp black suite "uhm excuse my name is Mason Giovanni my wife was brought here umm plane crash victim Lia Cruz." He said nervously as the doctor skeptically looked at him as a visibly taller man walked in and looked at Mason angrily before walking towards them and glaring at the shorter man "What are you doing here Mason?" Mauricio said as Mason trembled under his gaze "I came to see Lia." He said "Doctor Shay please excuse us and dont allow this man to see my daughter he is most definitely not her husband." He said that with a lot of venom "Mason walk with me." Mauricio stated with in a warning tone "Okay." Mason said defeated
"Mason here's what you are going to do. You are going to go back to the airport, get on your Jet, go home, take care of Alice slutcisco and leave my daughter alone." Mauricio started "If you cant do that something can be arranged and I wouldn't want us to get there." The Cruz patriach threatened "But she is pregnant with my child." Mason retorted "I WOULDN'T CARE IF SHE WAS PREGNANT WITH YOUR QUADRUPLETS! You cheated on her losing all your rights to both her and that child" Mauricio yelled in Mason's face "get out of here NOW." He added as Mason left with a look of defeat on his eyes

Mauricio was in the waiting when the doctors and nurses started running towards Lia's room "Doctor Shay she's crashing." A nurse said "prep the defibrillator at 50 joules dont hold compressions." The doctor hurriedly said
"Clear"
"Still no pulse"
"100 joules come on clear."
"No pulse."
"150 joules"
"Clear"
"Nurse take it up to 200" doctor Shay said
"I cant if I increase the joules and she survives she's going to miscarry." The nurse said
"Take the risk."
"200 joules clear."
"She has a faint heartbeat it might not sustain her." The doctor conveyed the information to Mauricio
"Approximately how long do you think she has left?" He asked "Maybe a few hours due to the burns that she sustained on her chest I'm really sorry" The nurse said sympathetically "Okay Thank you, can I see her?"
"Sure right this way."
As Mauricio walked into Lia's room he saw his daughter in an almost vegetative state and he was ridden with guilt he failed now she was going to leave the world and all he could do was watch....
He had been in Lia's room for over an hour when he got a phone call from his wife "Yes Vanessa?" He answered " Mauricio have you seen the news?"she frantically asked "No" he stoically said "well check it out." She said and hung up
He immediately googled Lia and saw a lot of articles about her crash but only one caught his attention
