" Vanessa I'm sorry I have to go." Mauricio told his wife calmly she tried to protest but he was already heading towards his car as Lia's memorial  continued

Mauricio drove to the airport befor flying to Davenport. Landing at the Quad City International Airport he was met by Riley Lopez-Smith who directed him to her car before beginning a wordless drive to the hospital "uhm Nathaniel and Emma are literally inseparable." Riley finally broke the silence "I can only imagine." He added with a chuckle

"You know she misses you right?" Riley asked trying to focus on both Mauricio and the road "I know Riley I know." He said sheepishly "Dont you think its time you came here more often?" She continued "I'll try." He said as they drove into the hospital parking lot

Mauricio slowly walked into the hospital afraid of what he was going to find. When he finally got inside His eyes were trained on one brunette female

Lia Cruz

"Lia what happened to Nathaniel?" He asked in a panicked tone "I dont know he just had a high temp and when I brought him here his condition got worse." She said with a sob as he pulled her into his embrace the memories of how he almost lost her recurring in his mind

Flashback

Mr. Cruz I'm really sorry we did what we could." Shay told him as the old man at looked her with a look of disbelief "She cant be dead." He said "I'm sorry." She said as she excused herself

As Mauricio was still trying to process the death of Lia Doctor shay came running into the waiting room

"Mr. Cruz we have a pulse, your daughter is alive." Shay said while panting "Oh my God really?" He asked bewildered "Yes and she is finally awake." She added
"Can I see her?" He asked caution evident in his voice

"Sure right this way."

"Lia we should be able to get you back home in Washington soon."Mauricio stated
"N-no I dont wa-nt to go ba-back there." Lia stuttered "Shay said the media thinks I'm dead let's go with that for now." She continued

Its been 7 months Lia moved to Davenport where she lives with Riley and Ryan her pregnancy is almost due. Her mom keeps holding functions in her honor, only her Dad knows that she is alive. When she returns Mason will pay dearly because after investigations were conducted on what really caused the engine failure it was revealed that an aero engineer was paid off by Mason to stop Lia from living Washington.

End of flashback

"Nathaniel needs surgery." The doctor told them "We recommend the Columbia Basin Hospital in Washington D.C" He continued "There has to be another hospital." Mauricio said "I'm sorry." The doctor said and excused himself

"Relax Dad, I think its time I came back home." Lia said conclusively

"Lia but the Giovannis hate you." Ryan stated "I dont care."

Mason has been married to Alice for 3 years, at the 2 year mark he found out the Amanda wasnt really his child and he cant help but think about Lia and the life the could've had together.

Alice despite being married to Mason and living a life of luxury still craves one thing A marriage full of love. When they got married she thought he would eventually fall for her but in vain, he always thought about her, even though she is late Lia Cruz still haunts their life together.

Zeke Giovanni has never been happier, he doesn't have to worry about the only thorn in his path, she's dead and he didn't have to do nothing about it.

"Well here we are Washington D.C" Lia chuckled as she decended the jet "Okay the five of you will stay at a hotel I have put up a kids wing for Nathaniel and Emma so thats sorted and one more thing." Mauricio paused "Ryan take care of them." He added

At Mauricio's house

"Mauricio what are all these articles I'm seeing?" Vanessa asked furiously as she showed Mauricio an article

"Its not true Vanessa, its fake." He seethed "Then who were you with Mauricio tell me." She said

"You'll eventually find out." He said nonchalantly " Just tell me." She retorted
"I can't." He yelled

"He was with me." Someone interrupted causing Vanessa's eyes to grow wider

"H-ow are you here?" Vanessa said shocked as her supposedly dead daughter stood in front her
"Lia what are you doing here?" Mauricio said getting up from the chair he was sitting on prior to her arrival

"I saw the article I knew she would freak so I came here to clear things up." Lia said
"How are you alive?" Vanessa asked with tears streaming down her face

"Dad will explain that later, I just wanted to clear that up."Lia said as she started walking to the front door but she bumped into something no someone "Lia?" He said in awe "wh-How are you here?" Damien said

"Dad will explain I have to go now." She said and bolted out of Cruz Manor leaving a hysteric Vanessa and a fuming Damien  as they all closed in on Mauricio
