You and Diluc left the winery, walking by each-others side in a comforting silence as you made your way to the Dawn Winery Statue of the Seven. It was your first time teleporting anywhere since you arrived and you wondered what it would feel, be and look like. Would it be a portal you would enter and then exit out of? Or would it be a sudden change of scenery, everything flashing before you so fast that it didn't even seem like you even moved? You were excited.
"I take you have knowledge on teleport waypoints already", Diluc says as he breaks the silence, his long red hair waving in the wind as we walked.
"Yeah sort of", I reply glancing at the sky. "I never got to finish my story back at the winery, since we asked each other questions and all before leaving straight away....".
"Go ahead, this time I won't interrupt of any sort", he states gently.
"I told you I knew the people before I came here. I knew the nations, the cities and places, the monsters...even the personal information of selected others".
Diluc nods.
"Remember how I told you about technology when we first met..and about games you can play on a screen or gadget. Well, I played a game every day back in my hometown...", I say sadly, reminiscing on memories from home. "It's called Genshin Impact. And you collect characters by collecting these little gems and then exchanging them for wishes. You then use the wishes to wish for a character, and it is based on luck whether you get the character you wanted or just a weapon".
"There characters you speak of, I assume by your description that they hold weapons?", Diluc asks curiously.
"Yep, there are so many different ones you can use of each kind!", I chimed in.
"Anything out of the ordinary?".
"I believe not, unless the creators of the game release something new in the future. The weapons you can collect are pole arms, swords, claymores, bows and catalyst books. I am almost certain you know all of those...".
"You are most definitely correct, I mean, who wouldn't know such things?", the red head jokes. "Y/N, are you a character in this "Genshin Impact"?".
"I mean... sort of? Since it is me just playing it, I have to use an already existing character. As you level up your Adventure Rank more in the game, the more areas you can explore and the more you can progress throughout the story. The higher rank you are, the more likely you are to have 5 star characters".
"5 star characters? They can't be stronger than me I presume...", Diluc observes smirking in my direction. It was something you would see from the one and only Diluc Ragnvindr on a daily basis, nor would the majority have seen even the fraction of a smile in their lifetimes.
"Diluc Ragnvindr... smiling? Is this a change in heart or have you just forgotten about your ever so stoic personality front", I laugh at him as he quickly reverts back.
"May this single smile be a memory you shall hang on to, because I assure you such a slip wont happen again".
"May this single smile be the first of many to come, because I assure you such a slip WILL happen again", I blurted out spotting the statue in the distance.
You run up to it gleefully and extremely excited, Diluc slowly walking behind smiling while your back is turned.
"Do you know how to activate it Y/N? You seem to think you know everything, so tell me, how would one teleport with this?".
"I do but my memory has gone fuzzy...".
"Perhaps that means you also "forgot" how terrible of a liar you are...", Diluc recited, approaching the large stone statue.
