Like any other morning, I had expected to wake up to the usual silence of the basement. What I had not expected, was to hear someone heavily panting in my face.
I was terrified, afraid to even open my eyes. Perhaps it was a dream... Who am I kidding! I could literally feel them right over me with their elbows sharply pressing into my ribs.
Snapping my eyes open, I came face to face with a marooned color dog. I screamed at the sight of the dog and almost fell off the bed.
Suddenly, I heard a pair of heavy footsteps hurrying up above as they headed to the basement door. My eyes looked over the the man who stood at the entrance to this room. He looked over at the situation before heavily sighing.
"Dammit, Smile, why are you down here." I froze as the dog turned to look at him. He stared straight at the dog and barely spared me a glance.
I bit my lip and quickly, I reverted my gaze back to the dog. The dog barked and suddenly jumped off the bed. I gasped at the sudden action and accidentally fell off the bed.
"Hey!" My kidnapper yelled. I groaned as I sat up. A sudden shot of pain ran through my shoulder. I cried out as I turned to see it.
It was all due to my wrist still being bound to the headboard, that the fall had caused my arm to get twisted horribly. I screamed at the horrible sight and only panicked when the pain grew stronger. My cries grew silent and turned into whimpers as I felt a cool hand rest on my aching shoulder. I sighed at the the nice feeling.
"You shouldn't move to much, it could be serious." He muttered.
His fingers lightly touched my shoulder and then moved over to my bound wrist. He cut me loose and helped me up.
Cautiously he felt around my arm, watching for any signs of pain. Seeing there was none, he sighed in relief.
We stood silent, my body slightly tensing at his closeness. His dark, black eyes stared into mine before narrowing. With his right hand, he reached to my chest and pushed me away.
I blushed at first when I felt his hand on my breast but let out a surprised yell as I fell onto the bed. I stared frighteningly at him, watching as he turned his back on me and left. The dog lingered behind, giving me a quick glance before following after him. The door closed and I was left alone in the basement.
--
Silently, I walked around the room, examining every nook and cranny.Sighing I bit my lip as I tried to look for something, something that would give me a clue to continue on with my plan on escaping. Sighing yet again, I headed for the last place left to check, the mattress.
With what little strength I had, I attempted to lift it, only to fail miserably. I stopped for a moment, waiting a few seconds before I would start again.
Mustering every strength I had, I pushed the mattress up until I was able to get a good glimpse of what was underneath.
Then I saw it, the thing that would benefit me the most. I grinned.

I laid awake in bed. The room was cold. So cold that my body shivered as the breeze nipped at my exposed skin. I tried tucking my knees close to my chest under the white sweater, but the air still got through and the engraving I received on my thigh stung.Suddenly, something soft brushed against my skin. I tried looking through the dark and failed to see anything.
I tensed when I felt it again. I held my breath as something jumped onto the bed and curled up next to me. Staring for a moment, I was able to conclude that it was the dog from before. His dog breath gave him away.
Smiling, I slept away with the warmth he provided.
-
"You shouldn't be in here." I shivered at the sudden lost of warmth. My consciousness threaten to awaken as I trembled on the bed. Hearing a deep sigh, I felt warmth enveloped me again.Stirring, my eyes softly fluttered open momentarily. I caught a glimpse of black hair that slightly tickled my cheeks. Slowly, my eyes fell shut as I was tightly pulled closer to him.
-
When morning came, there was a slight bit of coldness that came in the mornings. But I wasn't cold, for I instead felt warm. Looking to the source, I saw a familiar large, maroon colored dog curled beside me. Pursuing my lips I stared at the dog's collar."Smile, huh?"
