seconds turned into minutes, and minutes turned into hours, which soon turned into days, then weeks followed quickly after that. it's been weeks since taehyung and jimin last saw each other. although, taehyung tried reaching out to jimin, he wouldn't budge, no matter how much he wanted to give in.
this break was taking a toll on both of them, both just wishing they didn't let this small issue get in between them. now, you may be wondering what that issue even was. well, jimin found out that taehyung has been lying to him about something rather small, and quite literally meaningless, however when he asked him about it, the younger still tried to lie, making jimin fed up.
the last words he said to taehyung before leaving him behind, already reflecting on his poor choices, rung in his ears, almost like a broken record at this point.
"tae... i- i don't know why you find the need to lie about this time and time again," jimin said, looking around confused, and slightly hurt. "but... but if you can't be honest to me about this, something as small as this, then that means... t-there's no trust," his voice came out as barely a whisper, as he looked at the guilty eyes of his partner, before speaking out the words he never wished to ever utter. "w-without trust, there should be no relationship, tae..." gulping down a lump in his throat, he croaked his last words. "maybe we need a break, tae. you clearly need to sort out some stuff... personally."
"wha- jiminie, no. i need you! i can't do this without you, i promise i'll do better, baby. i'm sorry, i shouldn't have lied about that, but i promise i won't do it again." taehyung begged, while jimin shook his head solemnly.
"no, taetae, as much as i don't wanna do this, i feel like we have to. it's for the better, okay?" jimin cupped taehyung's face in his palms as the younger shook his head to his words, placing his own hands on top on the smaller's. jimin's eyes sparkled with tears as he held taehyung's face in his hands, before he placed a long kiss on the crown of his head, dropping his hands quickly after. "i must go now," he said lowly, watching taehyung's eyes widen with tears beaming in them, shaking his head vigorously. jimin chuckled dryly, "it's for the better, baby tiger. just take care of yourself for me..."
and those were the last things he said before he walked out the apartment with tears streaming down his face, and forcing himself to ignore the heart wretching sound of his lover's — well ex lover's — sobs.
shaking back to the present, jimin sighed, looking around and scanning his surroundings. open chip bags laying around, empty bottles of beer leaving a strong stench behind, and piles of pizza boxes left aside. it may have been his idea for the break, but it was affecting him negatively more than positively. he missed the comfort the younger used to bring him, and the peace of mind he'd have when taehyung was in his arms or he in taehyung's. mostly he missed the sleeps he would get when the younger was around..
in case you didn't know, jimin had trouble sleeping most nights. many people call it 'insomnia', but he likes to call it 'missing taehyung syndrome.' regardless, over the span of the weeks taehyung hasn't been around, jimin grew tired, not only physically but mentally. his already apparent eye bags only seemed to show up more proudly as time goes by.
