As Taehyung was buttoning up his royal blue vest over his white blouse, he heard the familiar sound of his phone ringing from his study's desk. It signaled that his boss was calling him. After a couple rings, he decided to reply, listening well to the gruff voice of his boss. "V, you're aware of what you have to do tonight, right?" After he heard a yes in response he continued his speech. "Don't let anything distract you from your target," he warned from the other line.
"Of course, sir. Nothing wrong will happen tonight," the younger assured. They then went on to discuss the plan he and the team have strategically created. As they go over it one last time, Tae walks over to his vanity and picks up a small lipstick case. Oh, what silly packing can hide the deadliest of weapons. After he placed the small tube in his back pocket, the phone call went dead as he looked at himself in the mirror. He smirked as he reached for his dagger, with his phone in hand, he took one last glance at himself before wearing the matching mask and heading out the door. Today's going to be fun.
Once he arrived to the located destination, a small ginger-head boy came to help him out of the vehicle. Ruffling the kid's hair and thanking him, he enters the Grand Hall where the masquerade would be inducted. It was beautifully decorated just for the occasion; the theme being dark blue and silver.
He scans the room to find any peer of his, before making his way to his companion, Park Jimin. "Chim, is everyone in position?" He accidentally let the nickname slip from his tongue, scolding himself as he told himself to be professional. He was satisfied after he received a curt nod from the shorter. He put on a smug smile as he and Jimin continued conversing amongst themselves.
It was no doubt the two had a connection like no other. In the past, they even grew a liking for the other, both too scared to come forth and confess. They both told themselves the career they are on is no place for love, and that they should move on. It was true in a way, but that didn't make it hurt any less for the two. Pushing away feelings was never an easy task, but they had to try.
While deeply immersed in the topic at hand, Taehyung felt an odd feeling of someone lurking behind him; eyeing him, almost. Slowly turning around, not too swiftly as to not raise awareness about the fact he felt a suspicion, he looked both sides, finding nothing out of order. Shrugging it off, he turned back to face Jimin with a soft smile bracing his features.
They went back to talking about all the good memories they shared before they drifted apart because of these feelings that they shared, never knowing they did. There was a moment in time where they avoided each other, and wouldn't talk, or look the other in the eye, for months on end. It was hurtful for both of them, but they're glad they're at a point where they were okay again. They were friends again, and this time, they didn't mind that; they've moved on.
After a while, they parted ways because the real party was about to begin. Both took their places, waiting for their signal. Taehyung took his position right outside the ball, stood by a pillar in the hall. Slowly but surely, the masquerade turned into a massacre. The sounds of people screaming left and right rung across the walls, in an endless echo. Blood staining glamorous gowns, with mad men running, their faces adorned with wild smiles, and hands covered in the blood of the innocent.
