. . .
Wei Ying sat grumbling pouting, his knees curled to rest his head in his study for Madam Yu has forbidden him into the family banquet. "Aiya" He grumbled as he laid himself on the floored mattress beyond annoyed. And why wouldn't he? It's his Shijie and angry lotus's betrothal banquet.
"She truly despises me." He grumbled, frowning while he thought of the possible methods to snoop in the main hall. Wei Ying eyed his slightly torn silk black choker, which was adorned with a drop size ruby that dangled below. "It still works" He mumbles as runs his fingers along with the inscription that was sewed in with deep cultivation.
Today he had just gone to pick some fresh lotus for Shijie and A-Shi, although he had done quite a great job giving that fuddy old man a youthful look. But the aftermath was not great. As in the end, he got his choker torn. Which resulted in Madam Yu grounding him as he smelled like their beings. Even though he thinks it is a terrible excuse to keep him from attending the banquet being his elder senior sisters' only brother, regardless he can not defy Madam Yu.
Wei Ying being the son of the former empress or the first wife of the clan ruler Jiang was treated quite discriminately. Or that is what he thought so.
Madam Yu is anything but a cautious person. She does not like Wei Ying, but she does not hate him either. The choker was not any accessory. It was inscribed with powerful deep cultivation to keep his true smell and keeping his form suppressed for a long period of time. She is fully aware of the fact Wei Ying being the dark nine-tailed fox and the rumoured prophecy as well. But under no means, she was going to led someone from her clan to be the prey of a misinterpretation of the dark nine-tailed.
It was the result of beings and spirit beings mercilessly killing the numerous nine-tailed before they matured or even cross 50 years, just for the sake of fulfilling their selfish desires. Seeking a shortcut to master their cultivation. The gods of the spirits' were enraged hence creating such a creature. To avenge the merciless deaths. To seek justice. To bring balance in the realms. But to irony, the fools misinterpreted the prophecy and now entire responsibility rested on the shoulders of the Jiangs to protect their ancestral spirit being. The last hope of justice Before he is in his full power and hinds his stabilising mate, his other half.
But Wei Ying being the king of mischief could not sit still while his both sisters were betrothed. For he has to determine if the other party were worthy of his precious sisters or not. He was almost out of tricks when his hand man arrived with his tray of lunch.
"Wei Ge, the lunch is severed," A-Ning said coming in. He is like a close childhood mate of Wei Wuxian so Wei Ying didn't like him addressed in a hierarchical manner. Hence Wei ge. A-Ning smiled as he opened the contents serving for Wei Ying as it were Wei Wuxian favourites. But Wei Wuxian was not interested in that right now as he viewed A-Ning's back thinking of something.
"A-Ning, get off the outer robes." Wei Wuxian suggested smirking as A-Ning's eye went wide in shock.

The Banquet was heavenly delicious, but it was just the royal family was finding it a bit too spicy. The Jiyang's were walking along with the royal clan of Su's admiring the celestial tower's halls exhibits. The celestial tower was ancestral, built over thousands of years ago but the beauty and grandiose could yet shine bright as the north star. The intricately carved stone lotuses on the pillar beams, walls showcasing paintings of their ancestors lit by the glow of the lanterns. The exhibit of inlaid wall artefacts resembling the rich culture. It was indeed splendid and majestic.
Lan Quiren was accompanied by Madam Yu and ruler Jiyang who were complimenting his decision to cut off his bread saying it was worthwhile to see his face. While the elders chatted lightheartedly exploring the halls of the tower, the to be betrothed pairs walked in quite the eerie silence as the elders left in the outer garden to "connect."
Lan Wanji walked along with the younger twin sister Jiang Shi as Lan Xichen walked with the elder one Jiyang Yanli. Lan Zhan was still dazed and quiet thinking of Wei Ying, as Xichen's interest has been caught by Jiang Shi more than Yanli. It was not that either of them were any less than the most elegant women ever seen. Both were beautiful, elegant and wise beyond ages. But Xichen's heart seemed to have been caught by Jiang Shi's fierce little eyes that tugged his heart in an unknown attraction. But he could not quite state it. The brothers were dazed, while Yanli and Shi were eyeing each other how to state their own turmoil.
The rosy atmosphere of the garden was quite the contrast to the couples walking. Jiang Shi was quite annoyed and stopped abruptly facing the other three." Your Highness, pardon me. But we have something to say." Jiang Shi stated slightly bowing down in courtesy, eyeing Yanli.
Xichen smiles apologetically realising the situation.
"I apologise, for being ..." Xichen tries to say but to be held off Jing Shi who suddenly pulls Yanli from Wanji's side as she whispers something into her ear. "Come on, or I will."
Yanli takes a deep breath as the brothers eye each other in confusion. " I deeply apologise," Yanji states bowing down again. As both sisters explain the situation.
Xichen smiles, for fate, has played quite the game for the time being.
When it seemed as one could change their destiny, only to take the decisions drawing the destined fate closer. It was enticing how it has turned to be. Can one really change the destiny that laid?

A/N - Another unedited, break writing. I know it is getting longer though, let's see where it takes. Jiang shi is Jiang Cheng's female version. Laughing? It suits him right.
