Days metamorphosed into months, as Sanyukta and Randhir completely embraced each other in their web of togetherness.

They found solace in each others' being, and nothing mattered more than they had ever wanted to.

Sanyukta was steadily living her family life with Randhir, and that lent a complete backseat to her professional system.

The Sanyukta Agarwal, who had always been so eager to flaunt her business assets, and keep rambling at the top of the business circuit, didn't even hesitate to miss office days now.

Life hadn't only changed, but had topsy-turvied as well.

And this aberration quite brilliantly irked

Caroline's conscience.

"Ma'am, Are you coming today or not?", Caroline spoke on the line, quite oblivious of her audacity.

If it had been like old times, her bossy boss would have fired her off without a

thought.

Even Caroline had no clue, how disastrous

and arrogant she sounded then.

But these did nothing to strike Sanyukta's mind, and she kept on stirring the batter of the cake, that she was preparing for Randhir.

"No, I ain't.", Sanyukta replied vividly, and put the batter in preheat in the oven.

All these business commitments, and these deals seemed so nugatory, when placed beside Randhir's one smile.

That one smile he'd give on tasting the cake, would be more than enough for her survival, she knew.

"But Ma'am. It's the Delhi deal conference, and we're already rambling in huge losses.", Caroline gasped on the line, quite certain of the new- found interest in Sanyukta's life.

Cursing the times she had been spanked off for going out with Mark, Caroline let out a wistful sigh.

Shit!

Sanyukta just couldn't miss this deal, inspite of it being so picayune of all.

"Okay. I'll be there in sometime.", Sanyukta hastily spoke off, and hurriedly disconnected the line before her secretary could place in front another business commitments.

Leaving the cake in the oven to bake, she

stormed into the loo, quite frustrated at this deal.

For a second, she wished she hadn't ever

grabbed it in the first place.

She wrapped herself up in office formals, with a pair of stilettos, and laughed at her own conscience.

She heaved a sigh, on realising that Randhir must be having the duplicate keys of her apartment, and would be able to get in, in her absence, as well.

Posing for a complete makeover of her own behaviour, she realised that she'd very well have to face Ramsay and Rathore in the business meet, and her sarcastic conscience should be back.

Plating the cake and garnishing it in every

possible way, she left the apartment, a little upset on not being able to witness his first reaction on seeing the cake.

**************************************

With glasses on, she pulled out her cell to text Randhir of her whereabouts.

Sanyukta: "I had to come to office due to an urgent commitment. Sorry. :* Get into the apartment and a surprise is waiting for you in the kitchen. ♡ "

Randhir: " :* ♥ ;) "

Reflexibly enough, she smiled on his reply.

Randhir had a charm of his own, and she couldn't deny that anyhow.

*************************************

Insanely exhausted after his work, Randhir

stepped into her apartment, a bit distressed on not getting an immediate hug from her.

Throwing off his satchel, he plunged down on the sofa, when his phone buzzed out of the blue.

"Randhir, Can you please go into our bedroom, and search for a blue file in the lower left drawer of my wardrobe?", Her voice bubbled in, from the other side.

A triumphant smile hovered on his lips, as he heard "our bedroom", and he seemed to cherish that moment.

Rushing off to "their" bedroom, he pulled off the specified drawer, and tried searching for the blue file.

Numerous documents and files flooded the

drawer, out of which a photo-frame came in his clutches.

"Randhir, You don't need to search. I got it. It's with me. Thanks baby.", she chirped, but Randhir wasn't in a condition to listen.

The phone dropped from his hand, while he stared wide-eyed at the photo he held in his hand.

The frame pained his fisted palm, and he sucked in a lungful of air, before he thought he could breathe again.

There from the photo frame, Sanyukta was

smiling at him, dolled up in a bridal gear, dated one and a half years back. ♡

And she looked happier than ever and that pierced his soul.

His world came crashing down in a nanosecond, as he kept on staring at the oblivion.

A thousand questions bombarded his conscience, the foremost of them being_

"Was a married Sanyukta cheating on his feelings?"  :O

Until Next Time.
