The night was treacherous and so was her wait. Her heart cringed at the mere thought of Randhir being with someone else.
She had been so overwhelmed at the thought of Randhir that she had completely ignored the shortcomings that may come.
Leaning by the window pane, she could either count the hustle and bustle of citylife, or brood over the early future.
While painful petals looped down her eyelashes, she pondered over the minute details.
Randhir might be out with some other girl, and she had no right to question him.
Was she chaste herself? She had her doubts.
The horizon turned red, while night descended down on the planet.
Tired at the day's happenings and exhausted at what his life had turned into, Randhir moved past the door of the apartment, only to find a midnight-dreamer Sanyukta rocking in humungous sleep.
Pushing away the hurdles that adorned his path, he moved upto the sofa, and sat down.
She was looking ethereal, a bit more than usual. And he laughed in irony.
The Lonavala trip indeed was life-threatening for him. For the first time, he wished to go back in time and change everything that ever turned wrong.
With a swift move, he jumped off his posture, and turned to "their bedroom".
**************************************
She heard the clocks ticking, and her eyes cringed. With a brisk move, she woke up, dreading the headache that dawned upon her nerves.
The clock told a different tale. Curbing the tremulous emotions from leaking out, she started sobbing within her haunches.
With jittery palms, she wiped away the precious beads, only to get wise to an intricate noise trembling out of their bedroom.
She turned around, only to find "her" Randhir standing at the door of their bedroom, in a vulnerable state.
He was in pieces, and this time even she couldnot be his panacea.
"Randhir..." , her eyes smiled while her heart cried.
She would engulf him with all his flaws and insecurities, no matter what.
"Mr. Shekhawat for you."
His cold-dark eyes preached a different tale.
"Mrs. Mittal. You and I are no more Us. Goodbye."
His words crumpled her heart into a million pieces, but her dreams didn't halt.
He was damaged AND destroyed.
She was broken AND defeated.
And they were no more a reality.
Her heart came to a standstill, as her most dreaded thought came true infront of her eyes.
With a sheer move, he left the place, smudging footprints in her heart forever.
Was this what destiny had in store for them? :')
《A/N: This was the last chapter of the
