Chapter 7: A new companion

LUKE POV:

I woke up in Darius's huge mansion and the first thing I heard was my stomach growling at me. Without hesitation, I went to prepare some food for me and also Darius. (I bet the first thing he'll do when he wakes up look for food) For our breakfast, I decided to grill some bacon strips, cook some mushroom stew and also an sunny sided egg. After sizzling some delicious bacon and stewing some aromatic mushroom soup, I realised there was no eggs. So I went to his chicken farm and collected some eggs. After finally finding the farm, I crouched down and picked up some new and fresh eggs. I stood up, walked out of the farm and felt a surge of pain. Not only the skin, but also the bone. Then I realised, I got shot by a poisoned arrow. I grunted in pain and blacked out...

DARIUS POV:

I was awakened by a loud grunt which came from outside the window. Confused and dazed, it took me 10 seconds to realise what was happening. I leaped out if the window into my emergency pool and saw Luke lying on the ground with an arrow. Soon enough, I took out my sword and started blocking the different kinds of arrows flying at me. Water (what?), Light, Nature and so on. Then I realised something, it's not the arrow, it's the bow. Suddenly, a red arrow flew at an incredible speed and plummeted me, leaving a hole just below my shoulder blade. I realised something. It wasn't a skeleton, it was another human. So I dropped my sword and put my hands up. As expected, he stopped shooting.

??? POV:

A guy walked out of the glass box with chickens and I thought he was a hostile infected human. I set my bow to Dark and water, fired my poisoned arrow and realised that he wasn't a infected human. I squinted my eyes as I saw him collapse. "Sorry" was the only thing I could whisper. Then, a guy walked out with an enchanted diamond sword. So I shot him. But he wasn't unprepared, he blocked the arrows and stared at my hiding spot. So I set my bow to Light and Fire and shot a laser arrow. It was probably too fast and I pierced right through his meat. Then he stood up again and dropped his sword. Taking that as a surrender, I leaped out of the bush.

DARIUS POV:

He? Nah, more like a she. A brunette leaped out of the bush with a bow on her hand. Totally taken aback, I stood there, stunned. "Knowing how to fight doesn't necessarily have to mean that I'm a guy, you know?" she said. Then I replied, "Just rare, never saw a girl that good to hurt me before." "Is that a compliment to yourself or me?" she said. Then I replied: "Both." She then introduced herself and her name was Mitchell. She was wearing a creeper T-shirt and a pair of loose jeans. Then she suddenly asked "Ermmm, him?". I then looked at where she was pointing and saw Luke lying lifelessly on the ground. I laughed and replied "That's Luke, Luke Magnus. Mind to borrow me a bucket?" She looked at me with a confused look and gave it to me. I then walked to the pool and picked up a bucket of water. Without hesitation, I dumped it on him. Then he jump started.

LUKE POV:

I was dreaming of something nice until I felt water landing straight onto my face. I jumped and saw Darius and a girl looking at me with a sheepish smile. Confused, I looked at Darius and wondered who that is. Then he pointed at the arrow and then her. After lagging for a few seconds, I realised what he meant. Staring at the girl who shot the arrow, she apologised and I said "Apology accepted" with a smile. Then she introduced herself to me. Then she asked whether she can join the party or not. Then we said... Yes...

Mich:Heh.

Luke: Don't you heh me.

Mich: Just did.

Luke: *Groan*
