Somewhere in the Empire, in a tavern to be more precise, a new barmaid had been telling strange tells to the customers. Tells of soldiers in green and of their magic crossbows, and the red golems who descended from the sky aboard a metal dragon.
"-Tavern customer #1: So you are telling us that not only they managed to make a dragon flee, but they also killed one?"
"-Barmaid: Yes! I can assure you that much, saw it with my own two eyes!"
"-Tavern customer #2: Bullshit! No one can fight against a Fire Dragon, much less kill one."
"-Barmaid: Hey! Are you telling that I'm lying?"
"-Tavern customer #3: Sure you weren't knocked out and dreamed the whole thing?"
The customers laughed at the barmaid who was annoyed that nobody believed her, she resumed to serve the drinks to the clients, unaware that a certain princess and her companions had overheard her tale.
"-Hamilton: What do you think?"
"-Norma: What do I think? The bar is filthy, the beer's nasty, and so is the food."
The blonde knight answered, a look of disgust directed at his plate.
"-Grey: Norma, we are on a secret mission to recon Alnus and Helnus Hills, and we are talking about the two Fire Dragons."
"-Piña: You're too loud. Hamilton, keep going."
"-Hamilton: Right. This rumor's spreading like wildfire. Two bands of mercenaries in green clothes, while evacuating the residents of Coda village, actually killed a Fire Dragon and make the second flee."
"-Norma: There are all kind of dragons, from ancient dragons to newborn dragons, and winged dragons too."
It was at that moment that the barmaid passed in front of their table, hearing them talk about her rumor.
"-Barmaid: It was real Fire Dragons, sir."
She served them wine once more while the young noble laughed.
"-Norma: You can't fool me!"
"-Barmaid: I saw them with my own eyes!"
"-Hamilton: Would you please tell us more about the ones who defeated those dragons?"
"-Barmaid: Oh, hmm, I don't know."
The woman said, feigning a lack of memories. The brunette took out a gold piece and gave it to the barmaid.
"-Hamilton: I believe you!"
"-Barmaid: Thank you, young knight! I'll have to tell a special story, then! When the dragons attacked us that day, they saved us! They had two different types of weapons that both looked like great iron cocks, rode in mighty, unyielding wagons, and were all dressed in greens. And then, a dragon made of metal appeared, his belly opening and golems of red armor used their weapons that spewed thunder to kill one of the dragon, making the other flee upon seeing the death of it's mate."
While the barmaid narrated the tale of her saviors, major Hikagi grabbed his head in despair, in front of his subordinate who didn't know what he had done.
The officers from the other advance reconnaissance teams remained silent, refugees who had been left outside the camp looked around in curiosity.
"-Higaki: Who, who said you could bring them here?!"
"-Itami: Eh? Was that a bad thing?"
Itami idly scratched his head. Higaki paced around a little, before saying "Follow me" and walking out of his office.
