There she was.

Jade Mirren, unaware of her life changing journey ahead. She was still, and unbothered as she sat, waiting for the train to bring her to her average pay job.

6:52 AM

The train arrived. She stood up with her things, walking towards one of the doors.

"Excuse me, excuse me, so sorry ma'am, excuse me-"

A tall, built man with brown, shoulder length hair shoved his way past the people waiting for the doors to open. He looked as if he was in a rush. Not to get to the train, but to follow the tracks.

Jade felt a hard nudge.

"Sorry, doll." The man said. He was wearing a black mask, but his striking blue eyes connected with hers.

"It's okay-"

He rushed off, sprinting alongside the tracks, as if he has somewhere to go.

Suspicious.

She brushed away the encounter, and continued on with her day. The train doors opened and everyone took a seat.

She read the clock on her glowing Apple watch. Her shift started at 7:15. It was barely light out, and the raindrops were racing down the window. She smiled to herself. She did feel currently content with her life. To a lot of people, she had the perfect simple life. Money to spend, a beautifully decorated apartment with her very own personal touches, a happy golden retriever, and a job she absolutely loved. Well, that's at least what everyone else saw, for she occasionally added her own touch of magic, as one might say.

She was fresh out of college as well. Apparently, her long gone parents kept savings to put her in a small art school. It seemed like she had it all. Her entire life organized somewhat perfectly and sitting in the palm of her hand. It was a very peculiar feeling at times, for sometimes she had a longing for excitement, something new. It felt as if everyday repeated itself in some odd way. Like there should be something big to look forward to. But, there was nothing.

I mean, she had some sort of control over her life going on. Her mind, connection with things, and control were definitely more enhanced than other average people. But, she lived her life nearly ever questioning why she could do some things. She didn't really remember her parents, so she learned to live with it. Something told her that she shouldn't perform her abilities in public, so she listened, and rarely used them.

But why now, of all times, do I have so many questions? She thought.

The train came to a sudden stop, meaning it was her turn to get off. After she gathered her belongings, she stood up and brushed through her brunette hair with her fingers, symbolizing the thoughts that just needed to be brushed away for the day.

Time to make today as good as I can make it. She thought. She was a self-taught optimist, and she was proud of that.

"Jade!" said a voice to her left.

"Ms. Hadley! How are you? I haven't seen you around here in quite a while." She stated to the woman who looked like she was in her mid 50s. Jade was a charming soul. A lot of people loved her as a local. Even the badass grandmas.

"I'm well. I visited my nephew and family in North Carolina for two weeks. I—well, to be honest, he was supposed to get married." She sighed. "I knew that bastard couldn't keep a relationship for over three months. I flew all that way, and-"

Jade laughed, causing her mind to crack a window of the train. Some days, her control over things weren't 100%.

"That's all very interesting, Hadley. And truly I would love to listen to you talk about it more, if I had the time. Unfortunately, I have work to get to. Come over for coffee sometime, will you?" She patted the woman's shoulder whilst walking out of the train.
