"Why?"

Natasha asked.

"Why didn't you show her everything?" She was worried.

Strange crossed his arms, thinking of an explanation. "She's already so stressed out, I can tell. I just couldn't have her deal with knowing she's born from a famous sorcerer who has been missing in the mirror dimension for... God knows how long. Along with her mother."

"That's...crazy."

Strange hummed in response.

"I'm going to talk to her before I leave, will you excuse me?"

Natasha nodded, and left.

Strange turned towards the door and knocked. "Knock, knock."

"Come in." She said simply.

He opened the door. A short while ago, Jade was given a room at the compound. It was spacious, simple, and a little lonely at times, but she did what had to be done. She was sitting on her bed, looking out of her window.

"I just wanted to let you know I'm leaving. I will be back, although I have a duty to protect the sanctum," He started. "I also have things to tend to about this situation that doesn't include sitting around here."

She knew this was bound to come. "Alright, sounds good. Tell me everything."

"Remember? No promises." He remarked. "But sure, kid. Also, you're not so regular anymore. How about practicing your abilities while I'm gone?"

He smiled and gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder.

And with that, he was gone.

She did feel some attachment to him in some form, for he was the first person to release to her some of the biggest news of her life, and stay with her to try to figure it out.

Especially now, she doesn't know how long it's been since she's had a father figure in her life.

They built some sort of trust throughout the days they've been at the compound and the lab together, and he had to leave her. Temporarily, that is.

Knock, knock.

There was a knock at the door, interrupting her thought process.

Natasha walked in, sitting beside Jade on her bed.

"I'm assuming he left already?" She questioned.

Jade nodded. "Yeah."

"You don't look particularly overjoyed."

"Not really," She chuckled. "It's stupid, but I've developed some sort of trust with him over these past few days. It's weird now that he's gone."

Natasha furrowed her brows in empathy. "I know how you're feeling. You may have heard of him...his name is Director Nick Fury. He was the one who sent Clint in to come recruit me. He directed most of my missions. And occasionally, he would be right there, waiting for me to come home again,"
