"Sorry for crashing into you..." The girl apologised as she awkwardly scrambled to pick her books up before facing the boy once more.
"No problem princess of light..." He answered.
"'Princess of light?' - That's a bit much... Hehe..." Kate Blushed, "I don't even think I count as a noble... Much less a princess."
He tilted his head to the side giving Kate a conspiratorial glance as if he knew some sort of secret.
"Oh, is that so...? I thought Goldengate was a noble family..."
"Well... Yeah, but a distant one plus I am adopted... Most people in the household just call me 'Miss Kate' or just Kate... So I don't count as a noble." Kate awkwardly blushed even harder having to explain the situation over again.
For a moment the boy's face was unreadable. But then he once again spoke:
"Oh...? How are you so sure about that... What did your parents say about your biological family?"
"Uhm, well my dad called them 'A bunch of assholes' - which kinda stung... And when I asked my mom... She threw a glass bowl to my head..."
The boy's eyes flashed red for a moment and Kate could swear she had just seen hells fire blazing within his crimson eyes but as soon as the flash came it went.
"Do you believe it?"
"Not really, I'd rather give people the benefit of the doubt, though dad seemed to referring to one of my uncles specifically..."
"Oh... Well, princess of light... To me, you count." The boy smiled.
"Oh, really? Could I ask for your name?" Kate inquired curiously.
The lad smiled:
"My name is Hannibal Von Weiss Schatten. And you are Kate Goldengate, right?"
"Yeah... How did you get my name?"
"My tutor told me." The boy answered walking beside Kate as she walked over to a table to continue her reading.
"Wow... Do you know all of his students?"
"A special 'few.'"
The two walked over to the table and sat:
"So... What's Dunkelheim, like?" The girl inquired, "Usually that's where all the people with 'Von' in their last name live, right?"
"Well... It's better than Lucelandia... But... If you want... I can grab you right now and take you there..." The boy said reaching a clawed hand upwards towards Kate's cheek causing the girl to become even redder.
That's when a thud was heard and there stood a young lady with long brown hair and a face that resembled Hannibals.
"Just because you like a girl doesn't mean you can go around threatening kidnapping, Hannibal!" The lady scolded.
"Haribelle! I was flirting!" The boy whined.
"Well, you shouldn't do so like that!"
Kate blinked - he was... Asking her out?
The boy sulked as his sister reigned her wrath down upon him.
"If you're asking me if I want to go out with you, I can... If you want... Is that want you are asking?" Kate stuttered out crimson red.
*****Rose sighed - she was going to do it. She had been bouncing around the subject for far too long already, even Amaryllis who was probably the most cautious person in the universe had instructed her to talk to Korinth and so she was going to do it.
She walked up to the blonde-haired boy in the hallways and took a hold of his hand:
"Uhm, could I talk with you for a moment?"
