over the course of the next few days the two regained their closeness and it was they has never grown apart. except for one thing, well person.
"so how's kaylee?" she asked.
"she's fine." came his plain answer. she hadn't heard talk of the girl and was getting very curious.
"you two are still together?" she asked and he wanted to burst and tell her everything but he was scared and so he took the other path.
"yea we are why do you keep asking about her?" he had replied in a rather rude tone.
"jeez, calm down, i was just curious. you haven't talked about her these past few days so excuse me for being curious," she scoffed in annoyance.
"whatever,"
the air was thick with tension and annoyance and none knew what to do about it. they hadn't meant for this to happen especially when they were back to being best friends.
it was like as soon as something was going right for them it immediately fell apart.
"im sorry," he quickly apologized, not willing to let it go any further, "i didn't mean to snap at you i just don't know why you keep acting like you're waiting for kaylee to slip up or something."
and he ruined it.
"what's that supposed to mean? i was just curious for gods sake. i don't understand why you're acting like I'm a villain," she frowned.
"why do you hate her so much?"
"because i am in love with you and i just want to know if i have a chance with you," she said and her hands immediately went up to her mouth in shock.
she couldn't believe she had fallen victim to such a cliche troupe. she had never thought she would be one to slip up like that but here she was.
"i- uh- i have to go," she said and fled, ignoring the way he was yelling her name. trying desperately to get her to stop so he could tell her how he love he was with her.
