Soum Menjivar

With Ocmjai on my back, we marched with the pack, following the Elder's and Seem's majestic wolves.

We were maybe a mile or so away from the Ojad Pack. As we settled into their lands, the Ojad Pack made it known it was theirs. With banners of purple and grey, the fabric held the crest of their pack for all to see. The Ojad Pack wad one of the only packs that had people native to South Everstone with the same name, but not to be confused. With distinct cultures and languages, The Ojad People were human and without magic — unlike how they were presented on television. Only the Ojad Pack was our ally as The Ojad People didn't know about the supernatural.

Crossing the threshold into their boarders, their Defenders walked out of the shadows. Bowing to Seem and the Elder's Cabinet, the Defenders lead the way to the Alpha's Quarters. The Jiocm pack worked like a large family; everyone cleaned, everyone cooked, and everything was shared. Just by the looks of the pack, The Ojad Pack worked more like a small state. The Alpha had the largest house, built from hickory wood and weaved roofs. The Betas lived in smaller homes, lined up next to each other with their own small gardens with chickens.

The limbs that hing over the packgrounds were decorated with lanterns of purple and grey with a crescent moon emblem on the largest one. Living in small rooms interconnected with each other, the Omegas had the smallest living spaces. Though small, the small cubicles were cozy with furs and candles. Surveying the land, my eyes fell over what looked like the commons. With tables and chairs lined over the grass, the people of the Ojad pack sent smiles our way. Standing around the tables, they greeted us with welcoming flowers and beaming grins.

"Welcome!"

The Alpha walked out of their home, opening their arms to Seem. With blonde hair down to their waist and bright brown eyes, the tan Alpha pulled Seem into their arms. Soon Sbjal joined their show of affection, all but crying as the Alpha held them. As they interacted, the Defenders went back to their positions.

"We are honored to house such a formidable pack and we open our hearts to your grief. Losing loved ones takes a toll on everyone, especially losing Alphas. Today we honor those whom have fallen, and tomorrow, we conquer the power that caused this pain!"

With a cheer, the pack applauded. Leading us to our arraigned place to sleep, the Jiocm pack dispersed through the plot of land. As I faced the small cubicle, I gently peeled open the fabric that separated the small room with the rest of the pack. A small bed laid on a wooden bed frame, covered with a cotton comforter and fur pillows. To the side was a small desk with paper and quills on top of it. A rug covered the wooden floors, fluffy and soft. With a small sigh, I gently took Ocmjai from my back, placing them onto the small bed.

Caressing their small cheek with a smile, I placed the blanket over their small body. I kissed their forehead, gently pulling away before leaving them in the cubicle as I searched for Seem. Though we had a rocky start, I knew she would become a great Alpha someday. She was passionate, passionate enough to chase me around the pack because it was her job. She never gave in our gave up, persevering to the point of almost annoyance because she wanted to do her job and do it right. No matter what she had said before now, Seem was one of the only people I could trust.

"Soum? What are you doing out and about? You should rest."

Seem's soft voice filled my ears, sitting by a table with papers covering the wood surface.
