chapter one;
too cool for school

         DEEDEE WAS AWOKEN bright and early on a Monday by furry ass cheeks on her face. It seemed like Duck had taken over being her personal alarm system for the time being, which wasn't something she minded. What the blonde did mind was his preferred choice of doing the act, though.

       "Duck, I love you baby, but do this again and I'm evicting you," the sleepy girl threatened as she picked up the cat and placed him besides her. "Thanks for waking me up, though. I owe you one."

           She slid out of bed with a yawn and began her tread to her bathroom. It was definitely a lot bigger than the one back in Manhattan, but she definitely missed her waterfall shower way more than she missed her parents being together. It was just another thing she was going to have to get used to, she guessed.

       "That and the fact that the water takes for-fucking-ever to heat up," she grumbled. Deedee decided to start scrolling through her phone as she waited for her icy water to become the steaming hot temperature she adored.

          The brunette felt a pang of jealousy while tapping through Instagram. Apparently all of her old New York friends had gotten together yesterday to have a picnic in Central Park, and Delia found herself desperately wishing she was there too. Unfortunately for her though, that wish wasn't being granted anytime soon. As far as Deedee knew, she was stuck in Forks with now lukewarm shower water and no social life.

Fun. Fun. Fun. ( not )

        After what Deedee deemed: The World's Most Depressing Shower; she heavily considered texting her mother that she was dropping out of in campus high school and enrolling in online school for the indefinite future. She really didn't want to have to go to a new school in the middle of her junior year, or meet new people, or eat nasty Forks, Washington cafeteria food.

      Spending the rest of her high school career cuddled up in bed with Duck and re-watching the 90s version of Romeo and Juliet sounded way more appealing than all of that.

      Though, when she did bring it up to her mother over that phone that morning, all Deedee got was a big fat N O. (actually she got a: Delia Anderson are you out of your god damned mind? That school bus will be there in twenty minutes and I swear young lady you better be on it!)

        So what Elle Xavier wanted, Elle Xavier got. Because Deedee was on that school bus to Forks High in twenty minutes, and lord, was she dreading every bit of it.
