THE REST OF DEEDEE'S WEEK had gone by pretty smoothly. She'd realized that her new friends were all attached at the hip outside of school, and either frequented the town's diner or Jessica's house—seeing as she had the chillest parents out of all of them. In the midst of late night Facetime calls and emergency movie nights when one of their group members was feeling down before a big test, Deedee still found herself missing something. Like a piece of the puzzle wasn't there yet.
That feeling disappeared as soon as Bella Swan sat down at their lunch table for the first time.
Deedee had heard about the Swan girl a week prior from the her dad, and had been looking forward to meeting her since then. Deedee hadn't realized though that the brunette would make everything feel right just by giving her a small smile. It wasn't like Deedee was catching any kind of romantic feelings for her, she would be leaving that to Mike who was both already tripping all over his words for the girl, but the pull she felt towards Bella was similar to the pull Deedee felt towards Alice when she had first sat down to her. Almost like they were meant to be.
Weird. Just weird.
"Bella, this is Deedee. She was also new here a week ago," Jess introduced, "Deeds is like the coolest chick ever, second to me of course."
Deedee rolled her eyes at that, tossing a chip into Jessica's face. "You're just mad cause I killed you in Minecraft last night."
"You killed me and took all of my stuff! Including my horse!"
"Finders keepers, dude. And I'm pretty sure Jellybean is going to love me as his new owner." Jessica just glared before copying her friend's previous actions and throwing a fry in her face, which didn't work out too well in her favor seeing as how Deedee caught it in her mouth.
"So you like video games?" Bella spoke up, directing her attention from Angela to the blonde.
Deedee nodded enthusiastically, "Yeah! Me and Jess having been playing Minecraft a lot, and sometimes Eric and Ang join too. Definitely a big fan of The Sims as well, and I'm currently the queen of Mario Kart."
"We'll have to play sometime, I'm barely decent at Minecraft but I think I could take you on in a Mario Kart race."
"Wow, Swan. Just got here and you're already trying to take my place? I like you, but not enough to give you my crown."
Bella chuckled at that, looking like at the blonde like she was going to take this challenge as seriously as possible. Deedee was definitely starting to be everything Jessica had cracked her up to be during their walk to the cafeteria that afternoon.
