chapter six;
are we gonna have a problem?
you got a bone to pick?BESIDES EMMETT CULLEN'S violating glare a few hours ago in the parking lot, the rest of Deedee's day was actually going by pretty normally. She parted ways with Bella to head over to her first class, where she and Jess got to partner up for their lab and the two were the first ones to wrap the experiment up and pass with flying colors. Then she killed some time her history class by playing Eric in Eight Ball pool on her phone, which she didn't end up winning but oh well.
Unfortunately, the normality streak wasn't going to last any longer, because before Deedee could even step foot into her English class, Ms. Jareu was pulling her to the side in the hallway. Deedee felt her heart drop at the action. This never happened. Deedee was a good student who never disrespected her teachers, so what the hell had she done to get on Ms. Jareu's bad side?
"I'm going to keep this brief before any of your peers start to gossip, okay?" the older blonde started. Deedee nodded silently, all while trying to suppress the anxiety sweat that she felt coming on. "Have you and Alice Cullen had any problems lately?"
What. The. Fuck.
Deedee felt like someone had just asked her the hardest math question in the world because the girl was just flat out confused. Of course she and Alice hadn't had any issues! The pixie like girl didn't even speak to Deedee! "Uh, no ma'am?" she responded, "At least, I don't think so. We don't talk much."
Ms. Jaeru frowned for a moment, almost like she didn't believe anything Deedee had just said. "Well. . . okay. I was just wondering because Alice asked me to switch her seat for the remainder of the semester. She's a sweet girl, and some kids say the nastiest things about her. I just wanted to make sure that wasn't the case here."
Deedee didn't know whether to feel angry or upset at that moment. Seriously, what was Alice's deal? Almost two full weeks of silence and now she was requesting seat changes? Maybe Bella needed to get her eyes checked because there was no way Alice was checking her out that morning. If anything she was probably cursing Deedee out in her pretty little head.
Screw her, Deedee decided. "Yeah, no, that's not the case here Ms. Jareu. Are we still going to get moved?"
"If there's not an issue with you girls, I don't see a reason to make a completely new seating chart. You're good to go in now, Delia. Sorry I bothered you with this," Ms. Jareu smiled.
Deedee didn't need to be told twice, with a vice grip on her backpack strap, she practically stomped all the way to her table. Of course, next to her sat Alice Cullen, who was still refusing to even look her way. The blue eyed girl wanted to scream, she had no idea what she'd done to earn the cold shoulder from Alice but for fuck's sake, she was sorry!
