A monstrous, gurgling sound came from the cell. The mass was hard to see through the darkness. Many of its dark features blended with the shadows that shrouded the prison. A cluster of beady, black eyes reflected off the bulb mounted on the ceiling and looked directly at her. A bizarre mixture of gurgling and wet growls filled the air. The figure slowly inched closer, stepping into the light and giving Y/n a clearer view.

Her lips parted, unable to find her words. An eerie coldness sunk deep into her bones. The figure moved on all fours. Its legs were thin and twice the length of its body, bending at the joints in an inhuman angle. Even at a distance, Y/n could see how the figure easily towered over her. Her brows furrowed upwards as she studied it. She found herself unable to pinpoint who this could be, if it was truly one of her friends.

"You..." In one word, it instantly made her fears a reality. The tone sounded as harsh as a rusted gate, but Y/n recognized the voice still lingering behind it.

Y/n leaned forward, tilting her head to the side a bit as she examined the creature in front of her. She paused, her body almost refusing to allow herself to accept what had happened. Y/n hugged her arms, her head lowered as she looked up at the creature. "Amber? Is that you?"

"Your..." It drew out each word in a breathy, strained tone. Tendrils of thick slime dripped from its arachnid-like fangs and onto the floor, creating a viscid trail as it crawled closer to her. Y/n froze, unsure whether she should be scared. She reminded herself that this was still her friend as the creature approached.

Heisenberg walked over to Y/n's side and got a closer look at it. There was an obvious hint of disgust in his tone. "What did you do to get it to look like this? I doubt just shoving cadou in its body would do this."

Don't call Amber an it, she has a name. Y/n chewed on her inner cheek, swallowing her words. Her eyes narrowed as she watched the two ralk.

"I've been experimenting with different kinds of blood." Moreau stayed next to the cell door, answering Heisenberg's question at a distance. He fidgeted with the torn edge of his cloak. "The last one was too big and fast. It killed my assistant. I have no more assistants left. I used tiny animals this time."

Heisenberg had to lift his chin up to examine the creature. The look on his face appeared as if he were sizing it up. He scoffed. "I see that worked out well for you."

"It's too docile, but it is stable. It thinks good and sometimes speaks." As Moreau tried to defend his creation, there was a hint of melancholy and loneliness in his voice. "It doesn't say much."

Heisenberg scoffed. "Like hell that's stable. You might well toss it out into the fields with with the lycans and see how it does."

Once again, Moreau tried begging for Y/n. The slight frown on her face grew and her forehead creased. She looked up at the creature. Fear gripped her heart, realizing that her fate was in Heisenberg's hands. Uncertainty sunk in. The two weren't necessarily on good terms.

Moreau let out a panicked noise as he continued to plead with Heisenberg. "I promised Mama I'd bring her a stable experiment if not a proper vessel. She will not be happy about wasting her gift again."

Gift? Her gaze shifted to Moreau, still standing in the darkness. She couldn't begin to wonder what sort of gift he was talking about.

"I told you, I have no interest in trading." The disgust on Heisenberg's face melted away, revealing a smug smirk. He spoke in a taunting, yet energetic tone. "I never thought I'd see someone with even less affinity for that shit than you, Moreau."

Moreau let out a pathetic whimpering noise, sniffling between every other word. "Don't make fun of me. Little siblings are supposed to respect their older siblings."
