I blinked open my eyes, but immediately closed them again because of the blinding white light shining down on me. I felt around, and figured out I was laid down on some sort of lab table. I couldn't move anything.
"Well, well, well, the princess is awake." someone growled at me. It sounded like an old, angry man.
I just scowled at the ceiling. "Who are you? Where am I? What do you want with me?" I didn't say anything about Tom, not wanting to give away that we worked together, in case he was also being held captive somewhere.
"Slow your roll, princess. I'm just going to use you for a few...errands. Oh, and I know about your boy, too." Out of the corner of my eye I saw him press a button on a tablet. A sudden shock of electricity passed through my body. It felt like fire was traveling through my veins. When he lifted up the button the shock stopped, and I let out a huge breath. I was sweating like crazy, and was too numb to even try to move. The man chuckled maniacally.
"My name is Hawk. Welcome to HQ."I was transported to a room with three beds, a couch, and a door that probably led to a bathroom. I was still sore from the shocking bed, but no time to rest. This didn't feel right. The bed situation confused me. Three beds? Who else is here? I just wanted to find Tom and ask him what the heck was going on. The weird thing was that there wasn't a door leading out of this room. I even went into the bathroom to look. Nope. No doors or windows. I sat down on one of the beds and put my head in my hands. I was almost asleep when I suddenly heard something like walls moving. I lifted up my head and jumped up on instinct. A small door appeared at the bottom of the front wall, growing bigger and bigger until it was the size of a regular door. Someone unlocked it from the other side. It creaked open slowly, and in walked Hawk with a girl in his arms. I couldn't see her face, though. He gave me a fake sympathetic smile.
"Morning princess."
"I'm not you're princess," I spat at him, flopping back on the bed. Hawk laid the girl down on another bed, her face to the wall. He turned and left the room without saying another word, the door shrinking and disappearing like it had before. I got up and cautiously walked over to the new girl. I pushed her hair back and gasped.
"Caroline!"
