Izuku's POV:

My eyes opened, only to be met with darkness. I was cold, far too cold. I moved my hand and found it smoking wet. My eyebrows furrowed at this.

'Where am I?'
'what is this place?'
'Am I dead?'

I lifted my head up to scan my surroundings. The area was pitch black, with not a single source of light in sight to illuminate the dark. However more interestingly, the floor I was lying on appeared to be water. But not a small amount, no I was lying on top of what looked like a bottomless ocean.

I immediately yelped and attempted to swim, but to my surprise the 'floor' was solid. I carefully sat up, and shifted my body forward to sit up. After I was standing I looked at my feet, scanning the floor for any clues as to what I'm witnessing.

"Why?"

I spun around and saw a small figure in the distance, it's silhouette the only thing I could make out.

"w-what?" I stammered, inching towards the silhouette.

"Why?" The figure replied once more.

As I started to make my way towards the figure I realised it was a child.

"H-hey what a-are you doing h-here? A-are you o-ok?" I asked concerned.

Suddenly the the seemingly solid ocean below reverted to its original state, and swallowed me whole.

In panic I thrashed about, desperate to reach the surface. I made my way to the top and saw the figure of the child for what it really was.

It was me.

Standing on the water at which I was sinking in, stood myself when I was four. He had tears streaming down his face and he had a look of disgust.

"WHY?" The boy said to me, with more aggression, seemingly sending me back below the depths. I attempted to swim to the surface again, but found myself exhausted. My strength had left me, and I sunk lower and lower, my air slowly running out. My eyes started to droop, the light was fading and darkness was overtaking me.

"Boy..."

I could feel the water seeping through my lungs, infiltrating my body.

"BOY..."

My body felt cold, like I was already a corps- "BOY!!!!"

My shot up in surprise, whilst immediately regretting the decision as my body flared with pain. I attempted to look around, but the light was unbearable in comparison to my previous setting. I squinted to adjust my eyes, and could barely make out a small overweight man with a bushy mustache.

"Ah you're finally conscious" the man said "you certainly take your time Izuku Midoriya"

I shivered at the man's phrasing of my name, it felt like he was defiling it by just saying it.

I felt my eyes adjusting, and tried to get a good look at the man. He was wearing goggles and his bushy mustache was covering his mouth. He was also wearing a lab coat and was very overweight.

Right on front of me was the man who told me I was quirkless.

I wanted to throw up. Every part of me wanted to reject this man, as what he had said to me had ruined my entire life.

"You may be wondering why you are here" the doctor Continued "and to save you the hassle of suspense I'll cut to the chase".

He moved closer to me, his breathe becoming noticeably more heavy.
