Most wolves were still dancing; however, Taehyung had excused himself because his feet had started to hurt.
The palace staff continuously supplied him with wine, and he was starting to feel a little woozy. It wasn't that this was his first time drinking. Instead, the red liquid was relatively strong compared to home.
Someone tapped him on the shoulder, and upon turning around, he saw Jackson. Taehyung was more than confused about what the alpha could want from him, yet he was determined to stand his ground.
"Jackson," he spoke up, curtly bowing his head to show respect for the higher-ranked male, "what may I do for you?"
"Actually..." Jackson trailed off, nervously scratching his neck. "I was wondering if you wanted to dance?"
Taehyung could only stare dumbfounded, his brain unable to come up with a coherent answer.
"Forgive me if I overstep a boundary... But why the sudden change of heart?" the omega inquired, now fully facing the royal guard.
Jackson sighed, "Princess Irene demanded that I apologize."
Taehyung pursed his lips, and indeed, Irene stood a little farther away, giving him a mischievous smile. Then, he turned to the alpha, "Thank you for the kind gesture."
Jackson was about to say something, but the omega was faster. "However, I'd appreciate it more if it were your decision."
The alpha was speechless, staring at Taehyung with parted lips. The omega just bowed and turned to leave, but a hand on his shoulder held him back.
"Please."
He looked over his shoulder, and indeed, Jackson looked at him pleadingly. "I realize that I mistreated you. I was rude, just because of what your ancestors did to mine. But, I realize that it isn't your fault and that everyone deserves a chance to show that they are different."
"So please, may I have this dance?"
Taehyung but his lower lip, his heart was telling him to agree, but his head was telling him to decline politely. He sighed and ultimately nodded, gently placing his hand in Jackson's.
The alpha led them to the bonfire where most of the festivities were centered around, his hand just barely touching Taehyung's waist.
The omega repeated the steps that Yoongi had shown him an hour before, effortlessly moving to the music.
"I didn't know that you learned traditional dances," Jackson spoke up, carefully leading the omega.
Taehyung smiled, "That's because I didn't. Yoongi showed me."
"So you've learned that in just a few minutes?" the alpha replied, seemingly quite impressed.
Taehyung nodded, enjoying the way his robe flowed around his body like a silky river.
