Mayas POV:
Some part of me feels extreme relief, she had found her way to me again and this time I wasn't going to let her leave. My only worry is that her condition was critical, and I don't know if she can hold on. She's a strong girl I know she is, I just need to have faith but my mind can't stop thinking why the hell is she here.
The paramedics rushed over and I moved out the way to let them do their thing, I'm petrified because I don't think I can face loosing her again especially for good. Her breathing was faint but it was there, they placed an oxygen mask over her but she still had her eyes closed. I informed them of my relationship with her and they gave us some space and told me how to clean her wound, as they said she would hopefully come round soon.

Floras POV:
Pain. That was all I felt and I wasn't even sure where from. I started to hear noise all around me and I wondered where I was or who I was with, was I even alive or was this heaven. As I felt my eyes start to open I noticed the mask on my face and it gave me some relief as I finally inhaled, I saw what looked like a woman's body in front of me, going through some kind of medical bag. That must mean I'm alive.
Her hair looked familiar and her smell was something I swear I'd smelt before, I looked around turning my head ever so slightly and saw the flashing lights of the fire truck. No, surely not. It was Maya.
I couldn't move I was so fragile but I just wanted to grab her and never let go but what if she didn't want me and she was just doing her job. She was still rummaging through the box so I carefully tried to reach my arm out to gently tap her, and I did. She turned around in shock and for about 5 seconds our eyes just stayed locked together and then I saw a tear start to prick in her eyes and roll down her cheek. Maybe she did still care after all. "Oh my god you have no idea how scared I was.", was the first thing she said as she softly reached out to touch my shoulder. I immediately felt guilty for what had happened and pushed her hand away whilst looking to the ground. "I'm so sorry.", I mumbled.
I felt her soft hands lift my chin from the ground as she said, "Don't be silly, you have no idea how tight I want to hold you right now, but we've got to get to the ambulance."
Something still didn't feel right.
"May-a", I said quickly before I felt my eyelids shut again.

Mayas POV:
No,no,no this can't happen. "Flora, Flora open your eyes, can you hear me?", I cried, hoping for some kind of response but receiving none. We had made our way to the ambulance as I placed her onto the stretcher keeping a strong grip of her hand the whole time. "I'm coming I- I can't leave her." I said to the paramedics and the rest of the team.
"Of course, do you know if she has a guardian we can inform." They replied.
It suddenly came to me she must've ran away and I began to worry what on earth could've happened to her whilst she was there so I gave my answer without a second thought.
"No she doesn't currently but im looking to become her guardian."
"Okay we will get that sorted as soon as possible." the kind woman replied.

As we arrived at the hospital a doctor who had obviously been informed came to greet us, I must admit she was a very beautiful woman.
"Hi I'm Dr Deluca, I'm going to be in charge of the patient, don't worry it will be okay I promise.", she says as she places a hand on my back noticing my concerned look. It gave me an odd sense of comfort.
I was quickly informed she needed an operation to cover burns on her legs and stitches on her face and I felt awful, she must be in so much pain. I couldn't see her for a while but I desperately wanted to and I couldn't dare leave so I just sat and waited. After an eternity the doctor came to get me, "You're welcome to come and visit now but just beware she may look a little different and in pain, she hasn't come round yet from the anaesthetic but when she does I'm sure she will want you there.", she tells me gently with her beautiful Italian accent. I go to enter the room but first I turn to glance back at her and I meet her alluring brown eyes. "Thank you." I said as she encouraged me to enter with a nod.

Floras POV:
The noise around me started to get louder, I could hear the beeping and the shuffling outside. Where was I now what had happened? Was Maya actually with me or did I just imagine it? I felt my blood start to properly pump again and my eyes opened. I was in a hospital. I looked around me praying that when I turned Maya would be by my side, and just like that she was. Her sweaty hand was gripping mine tightly as she sat in the chair beside me with her head resting on my bed, she must've been like that for a while. Her eyes were closed as I watched her breathing and relaxed to the beat of her heart. She was asleep, and I was soon going to follow, knowing that she was with right there with me.
