They pushed through the damp green vines shielding the camp. LynxKit hang onto DawnRunner burying her face under his thick patch of grayish white fur. Dozens, which felt like Thousands, of eyes fell upon the Maine-coon.
' Why are they all starting at me? 'Tension swelled in her belly. DawnRunner must of noticed her nervousness. He took a quick glimpse at LynxKit, shaking his head. "It's ok Lynxie, don't worry."
LynxKit jerked up from hiding, hissing. "I'm not worried you piece of crowfood!" DawnRunner winched at the bitter comment. "Geez, just calm down, ok?" He gripped her firmly by the scruff and tossed her into the nursery. "Don't get in trouble ok?" His voice was stern, but his olive eyes gleamed with excitement. He raced out ready to address the leader.
"Whatever.." LynxKit murmured curtly.
She studied the neatly placed moss tucked in each corner. A prism of light entered the den perfectly, reflecting a rainbow. "This is disgusting." She commented to herself ignoring the beauty of the den. LynxKit sighed staring at her patterned black and white paws. She set her chin on her paws and drifted to sleep....Yowls and caterwauls ringed across the clearing. LynxKit shot awake, trembling all over. She bit her lower lip and prowled by the clump of quarreling cats. "Didn't we tell you stop advertising here?" Snarled one she-cat.
"Why should I stop?" The mysterious cat answered. LynxKit studied her closely. She was a bright orange tabby with a sparking tail and eyes. She clearly wasn't annoyed by the outraged yowls and threats surrounding her. She yawned patting her mouth with her glossy white paws."Wow," Mouthed LynxKit. She stalked closer to the group perking her ears for more. "Get out of here SparkleStar! Nobody wants your flea pelt here!"
"Yeah!" Agreed another Tom. SparkleStar? LynxKit clamped her mouth closed from laughing. What kind of idiotic name was that? "Go back to your dumb ol' SparkleClan!" Hissed the same she-cat from before. SparkleStar's eyes harden with anger. "You will pay, you ungrateful cats!"
"Yea when hedgehogs fly." Snorted a brown dappled torturous Tom.
LynxKit let out a mrrow of amsument. SparkleStar glared at LynxKit and snarled through her bared teeth. "Do you wanna die? I can slice you easily." LynxKit met her glare and puffed up her chest. "How are you gonna do that? Stuff glitter down my throat until I suffocate?" The group of Dreamclan cats barked with a taunting laughter. SparkleStar, embarrassed, stalked off her tail raised high. LynxKit sneered at the glistening feline. The maine-coon turned around facing.. Nobody.
' Where did they go? ' LynxKit followed the bundle of warriors sheepishly. "Hey guys wait up!" A torn eared she-cat turned around and growled. "Go away." LynxKit halted by the comment. Her ears flattened against her head. "DawnRunner?" She half whispered. The misty tabby tom turned around and sighed. "Not right now LynxKit..."
"But..."
"I said not now!" He snarled. The clump of warriors padded out of the clearing.Empty.
A hurting feeling pounding in LynxKit's chest. She sunk her claws into the earth, sulking in her misery. She prowled into the lonely nursery sinking into the corner. LynxKit closed her eyes allowing the darkness consume her.
Her eyelids fluttered open. Rhythmic static noises labored down the forest. She padded out following the strange taunting sound. The sun was like a blowtorch, scorching her pelt. The trees were soot black, the leaves consumed with thorns. Dead ghost-like bodies floated through the air. Waves of crashing, churning, white foams of corpses flooded over her senses. LynxKit gagged over the salty taste of the dead. She recognized the scent of few cats.... And DawnRunner. At the corner of her eyes a ghostly misty grey tom floated beside her. His eyelids no longer existed, his olive eyes were dull and blank. His jaw hanged opened in a twisted manner. Not only that, his left hindquarter was jagged and twisted. Horrified, LynxKit paced backwards. She lost her breath as whisp of wind smoothed her fur. Broken voices whispered around her. "Saaavveee us...." "Joiiiiinnnn us..." LynxKit covered her ears, bearing away from the taunting mechanical voices. Her whiskers quivered as a bold figure approached her. "Come with me. Escape them, they are your obstacles." LynxKit caught her breath again as she gazed upon the sparking cat. "Come with me.." She repeated. Caterwauls of the once living refused dragging LynxKit by her tail.
"No!" She wailed sinking her claws into the attacking soul. The ghost howled in pain and sulked away. "Take me away from here!" Cried LynxKit, desperate. The glossy cat picked up the cowardly kit toward a bright light. "Save me..." Their voices faded away. "Don't fear me child, you will be appreciated in a clan, but not this one." She licked LynxKit's forehead. "I miss you daughter."LynxKit jolted awake her chest heaving from the taunting dream. "I need to go to Sparkleclan..."
