LynxPaw impatiently waited the sun rise above the spruce trees. Her torso ached with anticipation to get the traditional code over with. My vigal must be over soon. Her ambition to prove herself as a warrior was robust. She trusted her leader with her life. Yet what LynxPaw did't know that SparkleStar penetrated her mind with absurd images of felines outside of the clan. She couldn't take it anymore, I wanted to shred anybody who crossed my path-- who crossed SparkleClan's path.

* * * <Timeskip: 2moons later>

Stars blazed dimly against the soot-black sky, bathing the trees and the Earth with an iridescent light. The lake water shimmered in with a glow, bringing the evocative stars to life. The moon, once bright with a everlasting glow, was dimmed as starlight overpowered it; it hung low on the horizon, looking as if it would plunge into the vast sea of trees.

A multicolored she-cat bursted from the apprentice den taking in the scents of dew and roses blooming in the spring haze. LynxPaw shuffled around the buzzing clearing searching for her mentor, Harefoot. LynxPaw raised her muzzle trying to seize the quirky tabby's scent. Aha! LynxPaw beamed with pride as she picked up her mentor's lavender spoor. The young apprenticed squeezed herself past the boundless amount of cats in a quick haste.

"Hi Harefoot!" LynxPaw mewed. Harefoot spun around and her eyes lit up with revelation. She was a creamy, ivory colored tabby with light oak-brown stripes streaked down her back and tail. Her paws were wide and stubby tinted with dusky, brown blotches. Harefoot has a forest green eyes that seem to hold the whole world itself. Her fur was dingy with mud and rain which blocked out the glorious milky white pelt. "I'm surprised. Didn't expect for ya to find me especially when the rain washed out my fur."

LynxPaw held onto her mentor's tail and squealed like a kit. "Can we pretty please go hunting? Please!" Harefoot rolled her eyes affectionally and nuzzled LynxPaw. "Great StarClan, grow up will you?" She chuckled, her jade eyes sparking with humor. "Of course we can go hunting! We'll go when the SunHigh comes. Then we'll go to Thorn Path." LynxPaw hopped besides her mentor in joy. Yes Yes Yes! Just me and my mentor, what can go wrong?

And of course, something goes wrong.

FleckedTail trotted beside Harefoot his eyes gleaming with interest. "Your going to Thorn Path too? ApplePaw and I were just headed there." LynxPaw muffled back an annoyed groan. Not ApplePaw.. Probably one of the most irksome apprentice in the world. The only thing she is good at is talking about how amazing her skills are. And when she's not talking about that, she's talking about how she will save the clan someday. Please say no.. LynxPaw fretted.

"Of course she can come!" Harefoot chided. The ivory tabby glanced over her shoulder, staring straight at her apprentice. "You won't mind if they came alone, won't ya LynxPaw?" LynxPaw cringed at the thought of ApplePaw joining her training. She bit her lower lip, trying to hold in a snarl of disgust. "Of course not." She attempted to pull of her hoax of a smile. Harefoot must of bought it, because she smiled and turned around to chat with Fleckedtail.

Hot rays of light beamed on the four cats pelts. The sultry weather influenced the atmosphere to become more congested.LynxPaw panted heavily feeling the sweltering rays of heat sit on her fur. The humidity was causing most of the cats to grow more weary after each footfall. "Great StarClan! Is it just hot in here, or is it just me?" AppleKit wailed. FleckedTail gazed at AppleKit with comfort. "Its ok, we'll stop by a water hole in a little while." AppleKit let out a frustrated groan and continued her everlasting complaints. " But that'll take moons!" LynxPaw drew her ears back in vexation. "Oh shut your trap! Your not the only cat here carving for water." LynxPaw hissed in ApplePaw's ear.

ApplePaw let out another bundle of complaints. "But I have this.. um special disorder!" or "I'm hungry, can we start hunting now?" LynxPaw eventually tuned ApplePaw out of her head. Which seemed like moons later, they finally reached a pond lingering next to Thorn Path. ApplePaw aggressively shoved LynxPaw out of the way to reach the water hole first. "Last one here is the stinky beetle!" She cried out playfully. "First one there gets to eat it" LynxPaw snickered.

ApplePaw ignored LynxPaw's retort and lapped up the water messily. The multicolored she-cat gazed around searching for her mentor. Harefoot appeared to be discussing training plans with FleckedTail. Talking to that beetle-brain FleckedTail huh? Perfect. LynxPaw smirked and snuck up on the clueless apprentice. She heaved her mitt and thrusted ApplePaw's head into the pond. Waves of freshwater splattered against the dried up mud. "Hey! S-stop It!" She sputtered. LynxPaw sneered at ApplePaw begging to be let go. She liked this feeling. "Say Uncle!" LynxPaw commanded cooly. ApplePaw squirmed around, wheezing for breath. "W-whaat?"

LynxPaw hissed against her ear-drum. "Say. Uncle."

ApplePaw finally escaped from her grasp and yowled. "FLECKLEDTAIL!" In a heartbeat, LynxPaw felt a pair of teeth prick at her scruff and lift her up. Foxdung..

Harefoot cuffed LynxPaw's ears curtly. "Do you have bees in your brain?" The tabby snarled. "Do you think this is a game? You think you can drown your clan-mate and not get away with it?" LynxPaw stared down at her paws shamefully. Harefoot's emerald green eyes were glazed with rage. "Do you hear me? You're going to lather the elders with moss bile when we go back to camp!" LynxPaw nodded, pretending she was ashamed of her actions. Harefoot's eyes softened gradually as she brushed up against LynxPaw. "Hey, what got into you? Its like you were possessed by Dark Forest, Amiright?" She grinned trying to bring the humor back. LynxPaw faintly smiled back. "I'm Fine. Just give me some space, ok?" Harefoot nodded as if she understood. "C'mon lets go back to camp."

* * *<timeskip: outside of camp entrance>

Harefoot halted to a stop her muscles tensing. Her tail slapped against LynxPaw's chest forcing her to pause her movement. Harefoot's mouth uttered a few words LynxPaw couldn't make out. She exchanged nervous glances with her apprentice.. "Do you hear that?" She whispered, her voice thick with alarm. LynxPaw's long ears shifted backwards in confusion. "No why?"

Harefoot's jade eyes had drained to a pale angst and her scent is musky with fear. LynxPaw felt her claws itch with tension. "What is it H-harefoot?" LynxPaw asked, feeling a hint of regret twitching in her torso. Harefoot jaw hinged open in horror as she gulped down a clump of trepidation.

"SparkleClan is under attack..."
