I got out of the hot shower wrapping a towel around my small frame, walking back into my room. I love taking hot showers, they allowed me to relax and think about life. Speaking of life and thinking, what happened last night left a slight bruise near my ear. How? Don't ask me I have no idea how that got there. It's touch was gentle and comforting in a way but cold. Why am I thinking that this evil thing's touch was even close to comforting. I need to get myself together. I shook my head and walked into my room to get dressed.
I sat at the table in the kitchen sipping on a mug of hot chocolate and staring at the note and necklace that sat on the table before me. Hoping it wasnt in the same language that thing spoke last night. I translated what he said earlier after my shower and to make my life any better it had said, "You are next. He is coming for you." Was it referring to the man that I had encountered before I found that damn necklace? The thing can be referring anyone as a he. But I know deep down that it really could have been referring to that man. Why me? I bought this house for some good money, why should I just pack up and run away again? I have to find out what the hell is gong on. Besides, growing a pair of balls can't be that bad. Can it?
I started to laugh when Riley started to crawl through the snow like a gopher would. He popped out from the snow and started to run around like a silly dog he is. I walked up to the porch in the back of the house and sat on one of the comfortable chairs there and watching my goober run around the backyard playing fetch with himself was quite relaxing and entertaining. I put my pistol on the small table next to me so it wouldn't poke my side anymore. I giggled at Riley when he started to run and leave a big cloud of snow behind him. He was twisting and turning like a drag racer would steer his car.
"You have a very adorable dog. Haven't seen one with much personality before." A deep raspy voice said right next to me. I quickly jumped out of my seat and reached for my pistol with my eyes locked on a green pair. My eyes widened in sheer panic when my hand went flat on the table where I swore I had put my pistol. Looking at the now empty table I adverted my eyes to my still happy and unfazed dog. I quickly looked back at the green eyed man. He was a tan, well built man with thick black hair. His clothes were dark, from the black button up shirt to his black shoes.
"Who the fuck are you?" I ordered him wanting a damn answer.
"Is that any way to talk to the owner of this house, Darling?" His deep voice fell from his lips.
"Its my house now. I bought it and if you live here then where have you been? Why haven't I seen you around at all?" I asked him feeling uneasy around him. He looked at me and smirked putting something on his lap. I looked closer and gasped. How in the cheese and crackers did he get my pistol?
"You don't remember our first encounter? I was hoping that you would have remembered. Oh, I got your gun while you were sitting down. I was with you the entire time, Darling." He chuckled at my horrified look on my face after he said that. "Yes, I can read your mind." He chuckled again and got up while putting my pistol on the chair he was sitting on. "I hope you start to wear that necklace. There are things inside of that house that can hurt you. It can protect you from getting hurt." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Was this some kind of trap? The necklace can be poisoned or something. Why is he helping me?
"Darling you think way to much." He whispered into my ear. I jumped back not noticing the very limited space between us. "I will see you around, Darling. Maybe sooner than you think."
