Introduction
Daniel is a normal boy on Quince Rd. He lives in the same house model as everyone else did. He goes to Quinciton Elementary just like everyone else in his neighborhood. He likes to play soccer with the other boys on his street and watching his brother play video games. He would play the games himself but his mom always tells him he's too young to be inside all day. Just like every other kid he can be mischievous, but he's not too out of the ordinary except for the fact that Daniel is afraid to sleep in his room. Correction he's not just scared he's utterly terrified. He's not scared because it's dark, he's scared because of what's lurking in the shadows the dark creates. They hide in the dark. They lurk in the shadows. They watch and observe from the dark. They prey on the fear of children. They petrify him. Daniel has no escape from the hell that torments him in the dark. Daniel has tried telling his family, teachers, even strangers, but everyone brushes off as 'a child's imagination'. Daniel does not know what to do at this point. He truly has problem. They are his nightmares come to life. But worst of all they silence his screams. His pleas for help will never be heard. They're the reason no one notices his suffering. They have taken his voice. They have silenced him.
Daniel sat on the floor of his living room memorized by the pixelated red plumber on the screen in front of him. He forgot the title of the game his brother was playing, but it interested him nonetheless. A pair of footsteps came down the stairs. Daniel recognized them instantly. They were his mothers which made him nervous. He knew she was coming down to send him to bed, even though she's fully aware of the people that watch him. When the footstep stopped Daniel swallowed hard hoping she was going to ask him to pick up his toys he left on the table. "Danny dear, I need to pick up your toys and get ready for bed." his mother said in a soft and sweet tone. She always had a gentle voice, unlike his father. "I don't want to, I'm watching Evan play-" he paused for a moment, trying to remember the name of what Evan was playing. Before he could finish his statement his mother interrupted him saying "Danny, you have school, so do as I ask." her nice tone was slowly dissipating; she never had much patience for antics especially at night. She turned around to walk upstairs and as she did she said "Evan make sure he gets to bed." She continued her ascend upstairs, leaving the two boys by their lonesome once again. Evan turned to Daniel and he gave him a gesture to 'get it done'. So Daniel reluctantly got up while complaining about the people in his room. He eventually finished picking up his toys and instead of going to bed he sat back down next to his brother. He sat admiring his brother's nice red fluffy locks and big blue jean jacket. "Evan looked so much like dad." Daniel thought to himself. Daniel looked around the room for a moment scanning as if he were looking for something. "Evan friend Beckett was supposed to come over. Where was he?" Daniel thought as he stared around. "Evan where's Beckett?" Daniel in his confusion. "Um" he paused "We're not friends anymore." Evan said in a soft and sad tone. Daniel was very surprised, but he was more even upset. One reason he was upset was whenever Beckett came over Daniel got to sleep in his brother's room. He was also upset because his brother was sad. "Anyway Daniel you're supposed to be heading to bed." Evan said in a slightly harsher tone. Daniel didn't want to, but he wasn't going to argue the last time he did that he was yelled at by his father. He got up and walked slowly up the stairs. When got up the stairs he turned to his mothers room to ask if she could tuck him in. She nodded her head in agreement and walked him to his room. As she tucked him into bed a feeling of severe uneasiness washed over him. She said goodnight to him and turned to the door. As she left she turned off the light and that was when the real horror began.
At first it was just dark, but slowly sounds started to emerge from the darkness. Daniel slowly moved his head to the origin of the sounds. When his head stopped turning, he was facing his closet. The door moved causing an eerie creek to fill the room. Daniel was shaking ,he couldn't breathe, he had chills. When the closet door opened it revealed a tall lanky man with legs the size of a lamp post and arms as long. He was terribly skinny too, almost like he never ate a day in his life. He wore a dirty pale white long sleeve shirt with a ruby colored vest over his shirt, he had black tie that wasn't tied right so it hung weirdly on his neck and to match his wore a pair black solid black pants. But the part that terrified Daniel was the white mask it wore. The mask had two black dots to resemble eyes and smile with dripping black goo. Those were the only details Daniel could make out. Daniel stared at the figure in his closet in horror. Daniel tried to scream but nothing seemed to leave mouth. Tears flowed down the young boy's face. He tried screaming again but all he could manage was a whimper. He felt like he was wearing a muzzle, like tight wires kept his mouth shut. Then to his situation even worse "It" spoke to him. "Hello Daniel"......
