"Hey, I'm still at the grocery store. Do you want anything?" I said over the phone, "Yes, I will be there before dinner. I need to buy some stuff before I drop my boys in the cat hotel tomorrow. See you later."

I rolled my eyes after hanging up. Jisoo sounded like my mom most of the time. Maybe that is what happens when you are a married person. She often visits me at my place to bring food or invites me for dinner.

Today is their wedding anniversary. Wow. I cannot believe it has already been a year. Time flies fast indeed.

Anyway, Jisoo and Rosie planned their date, which means I will spend the night at their place to be their dog sitter. To think about it, they have been doing this to me ever since I got back to Seoul. Oh well, I could not say no to a free dinner.

After their wedding in Australia, I flew to Los Angeles the next day to work with my father's friend in Hollywood. Everything was different there, the work ethic, the people, and the environment. It was a huge culture shock to me, but I enjoyed it a lot.

Despite my hectic schedule, I still find myself thinking about her.

I tried to reach out to Jennie through her head chef. I even planned to go after her to Paris, but my work in Los Angeles made it impossible. Then I got busy, and the time zone between Paris and Los Angeles was complex for me to keep track of.

The next thing I know, it has been more than a year. Many things have changed.

My father stepped down from his position in the company, and Somi took his place. I could not be more proud of her. The company that hired me in Los Angeles loved my work and offered to extend my contract for the next few years. They gave a reasonable offer, but I have not said anything final yet. Maybe I will take it or not, it depends.

Now, I am back in Seoul for a vacation, with ideas rushing into my mind, like opening my studio. As for now, I still need to go back to Los Angeles next week to finalize the project we have been working on with Taylor, and then I will see from there.

I pulled out of my thoughts and looked at my grocery list again, turning my cart to the next shelf when it bumped into another cart.

"Oh my God, I'm sorry. I wasn't looking..."

I lost the next word I should say. However, I managed to pull myself together when her familiar smile flashed at me. She looked different but the same at the same time, wearing a blue dress and her hair pulled back into a bun.

"Lisa? Is that you?"

I smiled at her and nodded, "Irene. I can't believe I'll see you here, and you look... different."

Irene shrugged, "Me too. I almost did not recognize you with that short hair and parted bangs. I love it."

I chuckled and shook my head, "Thank you. You're not looking bad yourself too-rocking that blue dress."

My gaze lingers longer at her outfit. Something was different with her. Then my eyes shifted to her cart, and there were items for a newborn. Irene seemed to notice I was staring.

"So, is it a baby boy or girl?" I said, smiling at her.

Irene nodded and smiled at me, "It's a girl, Olivia. She's with Kevin, though." She said, looking around the store and turned back at me.

"Wow. I can't believe you're a mom now." I said.

A smile tugged in Irene's lips, "Me too. Who would have thought, right? I'm still nervous and not sure if I can be a good mom. I don't exactly have a good role model for that aspect in my life. This is all new to me. Anyway, how about you?" she said, pointing at my cart with random toys and assorted tuna cans for cats.
