Chapter 6: In The Whispers Of Lovers

This was It, Paul was going to do it. The two began to walk to the spot they would always meet up at when they were still In school. The feeling of joy and love ran through Paul like electricity. He knew what he had in store for Gene, but he was mentally praying that Gene would say yes. Paul worked hard to get everything ready for the right time, and this seemed perfect. Gene and Paul soon ended up arriving to the spot, Paul threw himself on the window sill and sat there. 

"You always liked that windowsill for whatever reason." Gene chuckled. Paul chuckled in response.
"Yeah. you could see everything from up here. Even the moonlight is coming through and shining on us." Paul said staring up at the moon. Silence fell upon the two before Paul cleared his throat and sighed softly. 
"Are you okay Paulie?" Gene asked while looking at his lover. 
"I have something very very important to ask you." Paul said. Gene got worried thinking Paul was going to leave him. He started mentally panicking. Was this it? Was Paul finally leaving him? 
"What is it?" Gene asked looking at Paul. Paul got out of the windowsill and sighed. 

"Gene, from the moment I met you I fell so deeply In love with you, You've protected me for years and never got tired of me when I had bad days. You always found a way to show me that you were here for me through thick and thin. And I can't thank you enough, You've brought me out of places, healed my physical and mental wounds, and always loved me regardless if we had that one fight. You've done nothing but given me kindness, love, and hospitality. And for that, I have a serious question."  Paul then proceeds to get down on one knee and take out a black box. 

"Gene Simmons, Will you marry me?" Paul asked and opened the box to reveal a beautiful gold engagement band. Gene was shocked, he swears he felt tears run down his face. Was Paul actually serious? He was hoping to god Paul was being serious and not lying to him. 

"Please tell me you're being serious." Gene said In a surprised tone, Yep. Gene was definitely crying out of joy. He was looking at Paul with tear-filled eyes. Paul nods.

"I'm being 100% serious. Gene I want you In my life forever, Hell I even want to adopt kids with you. I was waiting for the right time to ask you to marry me. So what do you say?" Paul asked looking up at the teary-eyed demon. 
"Yes! I Will!" Gene exclaimed out of joy. Paul smiles widely and stood up and proceeded to slip the ring on his finger. Gene then pulls Paul in for a loving kiss. He couldn't believe his now fiancé just proposed to him. He was beyond happy. 

After the two pulled away Gene put his forehead against Paul's and in a gentle tone said. 
"Why don't we go home?" Gene smiled and Paul nodded. Gene places a kiss on Paul's nose and they began to walk hand in hand back to the car. Until a voice called out from behind them "Hey! Stanley! Simmons!" Paul knew that voice, It was one of the bullies that used to harrass him. Paul sighed and turned "Look dude, I don't want trouble I-" Paul was suddenly cut off "No no no! I don't wanna cause trouble, I just noticed you two are wearing rings and I just wanted to say congratulations."  Paul was taken aback, did his bully really just congratulate them? Paul blinks and replied 
"Oh, thank you!" Paul said with a kind smile. 
"Anytime dude," The guy said smiling back, he then looked to Gene and smiled "Take care of St- I mean Paul. He's a kind dude and he's worth your time" The guy said. 
"I will." Gene replied, The guy then walked away and Paul said "Wow, I was not expecting that." 
"Yeah neither was I. Come on babe. Let's get home." Gene said while holding the car door open for Paul. Paul Chuckles and got In the car. Paul turns to Gene and says "Thank you for everything Gene, I'm so glad to have met you." Paul said with a tired voice. "Anything for my baby." Gene said while smiling back. They then proceeded to drive home.
