I cursed underneath my breath but thought of something quickly and put on my best smile. I pushed past Ashanti and went to go hug my dad tightly, hoping that he didn't notice a gun in Ashanti's hand.
"Hey pops. I didn't know you were coming. Omg is that a new suit?" I pulled away from the hug and complemented his outfit.
"After I dropped Kyrie off at your grandmas house yesterday, I bought it and it didn't cost that much. I even got a red one-
He smiles but then it drops once he realizes what I was trying to do. "Nice try kiddo." He moves me aside and makes his way to Ashanti with a straight face.
While I'm behind my dad, I try to signal for Ashanti to run. All he does is just tuck his gun back in his hoodie and stand there calmly.
Does this man gotta death wish or...
After a moment of silence passes, I'm then taken by surprise when they both dab each other up and pat each other on the back. For someone who didn't like me hanging around the male species growing up, dad was anything but angry right now.
"Did you find out anything?"
"Yea we caught two people that might be working for him." Ashanti showed him his phone and Dad clenched his jaw. They both didn't pay any attention to me until I cleared my throat.
"Guys, I'm right here. Are you gonna explain to me how y'all know each other?" I ask, still dumbfounded.
I look between the both of them and no one answers. I find it kinda suspicious of how they so happened to know each other and not tell me.
"It's gonna be a long story so I suggest we sit." My dad hushes me before we all take a sit in the living room.
"Not that close, boy." He then glares at Ashanti for closely sitting next to me.
"Okay. Before I tell you this, just know that all the secrets I kept from you was for your own protection." Dad said and I nodded my head so he could hurry up.
"Dad just tell me." I sighed.
"When I was around y'all's age, Me and Kings parents were very close friends. Dom and Jenny were basically the only friends I had growing up. Your old man and I were definitely not saints either. Most of the things we used to do were crazy and reckless. Especially, on the night that changed my life forever...."

Mike's Flashback:
"He's not here and I've been waiting for like thirty minutes. Should I leave?" I close the trunk full of drugs and bring my phone up to my ear.
"Nah. Give him about five minutes. That nigga always pulls up late but he's a good client so it's worth it." Dom states and I nod my head agreeing with him.
"Alright. I'll call you later bro." I hung up with a mug on my face because I was starting to get impatient.
This nigga really got me waiting in a dark alley at 11 pm. Fuck it, I'm leaving.
As I was about to open my car door, I heard a women scream from around the corner.
"H-help. Somebody help." I heard the women scream again so I chose to go and see what was the problem.
