"Why is it so heavy?" I play with the gun after convincing Ashanti to let me hold it for thirty seconds.
"You gonna hurt ya self if you keep waving it around like that." He sighs deeply.
"Chill, I got it. It's not like it's the first time I've ever held a gun." Right after I say that, I almost drop it and he shakes his head at me.
"A nerf gun doesn't count." While keeping his eyes on the road he uses his unoccupied hand to place the gun on the console.
"Oh, then never mind." I mutter to myself and lean my head on the car window.
"Aight we here." We slowly pull up to what seems like the back of Ashantis club. I didn't realize how big the whole place was til I glanced up at the two story building. In fact, if it wasn't for the many cars parked in the driveway then I would have thought it was closed.
"I'm guessing those aren't janitors." As I observed the group of men blocking the back door, I laughed nervously. They quickly stood up straight and held their hands behind their backs once they noticed Ashanti in the drivers seat.
"Hey, look at me. You trust me?" He could tell that my anxiety was getting the best of me and put his hand on top of mine.
"Yeah. Of course." I assure him because he hasn't given me any reason not to.
"Okay listen. Stay beside me and don't say anything until we get inside my office upstairs." He explained and I listened carefully before we got out the car.
"Boss." All of them greet with a silent nod and don't dare to look my way as I stand right next to him. They step aside to allow Ashanti to open the door, and I immediately groan at the stair case ahead of us.
"Would you rather take the elevator?" With an annoying smirk on his face, Ashanti teases.
"Just watch. When I finally find out what your scared of, it's over for you." I glare playfully and it instantly wipes the smirk off his face.
"I ain't scared of nothing." He shrugs nonchalantly.
"Mmm. W'ell see about that, Mr.Tuff guy." I nod and continue following him.
As we neared the top of the stair case, another door was blocked by a guard. At first he looked like the most scariest buff guy I've ever seen until he smiled and dabbed Ashanti up when he spotted us.
"Wassup, King. Oh, who do we have here?" He seductively smiles and attempts to get closer to me.
"Monty we cool and all but If you don't wanna get yo shit rocked again, back up." Ashanti got in front of me and mugged him.
Oop.
"Ma bad." Monty held his hands up in surrender and moved outta the way.
Ashanti wrapped an arm around my shoulder and took out his keys to unlock the door. Although before I can say anything, the door is wide open and we're both met with the sight of many people. Anyone with their five senses would be able to detect the strong smell of weed in the air, men rolling dice on the floor, women wearing only underwear while handling drugs in one corner, and more men talking loudly in the other.
