Neon Tears

Chapter 24

-Balance Castle-

Static tucks a blank around Bane after he falls asleep on the couch. Before looking around their suite. There were two bedrooms and bathrooms, with a living room, dining area and kitchenette between the two.  Off the dining/living room are french doors onto the courtyard patio.  He didn't know what to think after watching Dream working so hard to help Vita heal Bane.  A soft knock at their door had him hurrying to see who it is before they can wake Bane.

Milly smiles up at him as soon as the door opens. "The shipments M'lord is sending to the throne room have shifted to things like sewing and knitting supplies as well as clothing and baby items.  We are moving the baby stuff into storage until the renovations are completed.  Most of the fiber arts supplies will be moved to the craft room, but I wanted to know if you would like to pick some to keep in your suit?"

Static hesitates glancing back at Bane asleep and vulnerable.  Then taking a deep breath they were going to need this place and these monsters for their children he nods.  "i wLl cOme pIck.  BaNe neEds ResT."

Milly nods, stepping back so he can come out.  "If you prefer hands, everyone knows how to read and use sign language.  Horror and his majesty both got migraines so it was useful to know."

Static sighs his hands moving in sign with practiced ease.  'Is the sign here the same?'

Milly watches then blinks.  "If you are asking if, sign is the same here then I would say yes.  There may be a few words that are different but if there are, we will figure it out."

Static gave her a small smile 'Tell me about this AU?' Finally he could get some answers from someone who wasn't an over stressed kid running at top speed to stay ahead of disaster.

Milly leads the way to the throne room signing as she talks.  "According to the history books in the village.  When Error first brought Nightmare here over two thousand years ago it was just a sliver of an unfinished AU, just the forest around Mount Ebott.  Not even the mountain, just the forest.  Lord Error added to the AU when he could, a patch of an abandoned FarmTale copy here, a bit of OverTale there.  Things glitch a bit at the seams but overall it is stable.  The original keep was built by his majesty and lord Error themselves it has a great hall, throne room, sleeping chambers, kitchen and pantry by modern standards it would be more like a manor house only having ten sleeping chambers.  It has of course been rebuilt and integrated into the rest of the castle.  Every stone of the inner keep was cut and moved by lord Error and his majesty.  The staff tend to gather there, we find the lingering traces of their magic is comforting."

Static was surprised that they would gather close around the wisps of negative magic but he could definitely feel it as they moved into corridors with beautifully fitted but uneven stones.  There was something about those little wisps of negative power that clung to the stones that felt protective. Was this why the staff gathered in this part of the castle? It made them feel protected?

"I hope you are comfortable here.  I know it means a lot to M'lord to have family, close even if it is adopted."  Milly looks up at him with a smile.  Before opening a medium sized door that though carved and painted was small enough that one determined fighter could hold it well for an extended period of time if needed.

Static followed her into a fairly large room with a dais with four thrones, two oversized ones with sun and moon symbols and two slightly smaller ones, one without carvings and the other next to the moon throne marked with webs and balance scales.  He had noticed that the sun and moon symbols were always equally represented here, but Fresh 404 had said this was Nightmare's castle.  'You speak of Nightmare and Error building this place.  Yet it beres the sun symbol as much as the moon?'
