Neon Tears

Chapter 2

A rainbow swirling portal opened and Fresh 404 stepped through carrying Inky, followed by Stretch, Dream, and Razz with Inky's paint brush.

"Here." They passed Inky to Stretch. "This should be simple. Inky handles the surface repairs. We will pull up the deeper codes and run a check on them. And patch any damage Inky can't reach or direct him to hidden damage.  Then we need to pick up UnderSwap Sans #83792 that AU is ready to crash and he deserves a Papyrus that will actually care about him or at least not hurt him.  We change his AU link to here, Chara or Frisk resets and done."

"I need to pack and move my stuff out before the reset." Dream waves and runs towards Snowdin.

"That sounds like it will take some time, maybe we should help Dream move." Razz grinned and took off after Dream.

Stretch hugged Inky to him as he walked with Fresh 404 at a more reasonable pace. "So this Sans you want to move here?  You said he deserves a Papyrus that will care.  Is there something wrong with his brother?"

"You know how you blocked out everything Cobalt tried to tell you and derailed any personal growth. Because you needed to feel in control in a world out of your control? His is worse, a lot worse don't be surprised if he is scared of you."  They frown, kicking a snow puff.  "There are AU we won't mind removing Stretch. We are not sure if that says more about us or those AU."

"I am surprised you would pick a vulnerable Sans after how badly I messed up with Cobalt."  Stretch almost walked into a tree staring at them.  Only to have Fresh 404 yank him to the side with his strings.

"You screwed up true.  Are you going to make that mistake again?" They glanced at him. "You did good with Dream bru.  So we are giving you a chance to prove you can be better.  An hoping #83792 can heal."

"You can't do that, you can't just shuffle Sanses around; it will destabilize the AU's involved." Inky glared at Fresh 404.

"It would if we didn't change #83792's AU link. Or if Cobalt was still here. But he isn't and we will.  Come on you can't tell me you can't feel how close to falling that AU is.  It can't be saved but this one can and it is the original if it falls all the copies do to."  They glare right back at Inky.

Huffing Inky looks away. "An AU link can't be changed. I have tried."

"Inky this is why we have to work together.  We can't create but we can edit everything but Core and SOUL codes."  They reached down and plucked Annoying Dog out of a snow puff hugging him and examining his paw. "Hey there bru what happened here." Carefully they pull a thorn out and with a fizz and a pop the wound closes. "That isn't really healed but it should keep it closed till the reset."  With a pat on the head they set him down.

"Why are you so okay with changing things when Inky is not."  Stretch absently cuddles Inky like a cranky babybones.

"Because it is in our codes, change, growth, and destruction are part of life and death. They are all possible because of entropy.  As the creator and protector Inky has a problem with entropy that we do not. That is part of why he needs a balancer."  They glide across the ice looking around.  "The shade of blue is faded here."

Inky looks around frowning.  "The treeline too. What the funk, what kind of glitch makes colors fade."

They open a window into the codes.  "Level three code layer error three codes not found... looks like Frisk and Temmie took the opportunity of resets being on hold to take a vacation."

"They what?" Stretch looked shocked.

"Frisk is likely hanging out with the other first fallen in the support system.  They have no reason to hang around here when Chara can't reset without risking glitching the AU badly.  It is not like they have anyone here other than Asgore and Temmie doesn't even have him.  Cobalt was their only  friend here." They closed the window.  "We will have to go get them and #83792 before we can repair things.  Go ahead and take Inky to your place." They snapped their fingers and the string cocoon fell into rainbow glitter.  Inky sneezed at the cloud of glitter making it worse.
