*We walked out of the cafeteria and into the courtyard outside.*
*Nevaeh's POV*
Once we entered the courtyard, we sat down on the bricked ground, facing the trees that almost completely surrounded the space. Nathan started shuffling around, like he's anxious and cant sit still. It was getting a bit awkward, so I decided to end the silence.
"So, what did you need to talk about?"
He turned to look at me. "Oh yeah. Sorry, I got distracted."
"Don't worry about it." I reassured him. I think I know what he's going to ask by how he's been acting. I then turned my body to face him.
"Okay. Nevaeh, will you help me pick out my suit for homecoming? I'm kinda embarrassed that I'm insecure about picking one out, thats why I made it such a big deal." He asked, looking unsure. That was NOT what I was expecting.
"Sure! Who's the special girl, going with you? Hmmm?" I wiggled my eyebrows at him.
"I don't know yet, I might go with friends or something unless I get the nerve to ask the person I have my eye on."
"Okay. When did you want to go to the shop?" I asked.
"I was thinking today after school."
"Oh. I have a meeting with a friend at the cafe, but you can come with you want. We wont be very long." I answered, remembering my appointment with Destiny.
"Sure, if you're okay with me coming. I dont want to intrude on your conversation." He answered carefully.
"No, its fine." I gave him a smile, which he returned. "Oh, Nathan," He turned around, "Roxy was predicting that you'd ask me out, wanna have a little fun?" I asked with an evil smile.
"Of course." He smirked back.
We walked in holding hands and I smiled at him like I used to Ansel and I'm pretty sure I heard squeals coming from my friends' table. "Remember, act like you love me and be lovey dovey." I whispered as we went to sit down. "Wont have to act." He muttered, I think.
We sat down next to each other and joined in the conversation that was going on at the table. I could see Ansel stealthily glaring at me. Just to make it worse, I started glaring right back at him. The others were too busy talking to notice, even though I wasnt trying to hide it.
The bell rang within probably 2 minutes of our silently portrayed glare competition. I think he's winning though. His glares are really intense. One time Roxy called him 'Benji', which was a nickname that his friends made and that he hated, and he stared her down until she caved. That's why I thought we were perfect for each other, we both get easily maddened by her and can scare her by just our looks.
We all got up and walked to our next 2 agonizing classes. I didnt give any of my friends a chance to talk to me throughout them either. Muhahahaha. After we were dismissed from homeroom at the end of the day, I exited the building to meet Nathan. Kat, Lux, Roxy, and the rest of my gang of friends came up to me and started firing questions, which I gave difficult to understand answers to. It was really funny though because when Nathan came over, they all shut up and acted normal.
"Bye girlys! We'll see you tomorrow!" I called as we started to walk towards Caffeine and Sweets, the little coffee shop/cafe where we were meeting Destiny. Once we walked in, I spotted a table for 4 and Nathan and I both sat down.
"Hey, what do you want?"
"The usual." I responded.
"Which is......" He sounded confused.
