Ch.2 Haunted by Guilt

■Matsukawa's POV■

A week has passed, I still try to see Y/N. I go to her place only to find that she's not there. Her neighbor told me that she hasn't seen her meaning that Y/N never comes home.

When I have no works and on my break time, I always go to her campus, hoping that I'll see her after class but I never did. I'm sure I follow her schedule though.

I can't contact her anymore because she blocked me. I'm getting tired, I feel like I'm haunted by some unfinished business.

I return to my home after going to Y/N's house again to find no one. I took a shower and then lay on my bed, staring at the ceiling.

Ting!

A chat came into my phone and I check it right away, hoping it was Y/N giving me a chance to talks but of course it's not.

Sender: Mayuki
Recipient: Issei

Issei, want to meet up? I miss you, it's been a week since we last met.

I sigh and cover my eyes with the back of my arm. Since the day I know Y/N found out about Mayuki and me, I'm having a hard time sleeping.

Every time I close my eyes, I always dreamed of Y/N facing away from me. When I want to see her face she vanishes. The guilt is making me uneasy.

I don't know how did it start, but since I met Mayuki I start averting my attention from Y/N. In my free time, I meet Mayuki instead of her, feeling that she sparks something inside of me. But I can't tell Y/N and or ended what I have with her.

I'm being unfair....

I look at the table next to me and pulls the drawer out, taking the frame I put inside so I don't have to feel guilty when I bring Mayuki into this room.

I look at her face as she smiles happily...

Matsukawa: how can I do something like this to such a sweet girl... to someone as kind as she is...

Just then I remember something, I remember Y/N has a best friend since elementary school, Kamihara Ino. That girl, she lives in the city next to ours. I've been there a couple of times before, to accompany Y/N when she wants to take something in there.

Matsukawa: Could it be?

I take my phone and send Mayuko a chat.

Sender: Issei
Recipient: Mayuki

Mayuki, sorry I have to go somewhere. I have something to do.

I take my jacket and car key and go to my car.

I hope she's there...

I hope I can see her...

■3rd Person POV■

Ting!

Makoto: Popcorn is ready~

Makoto walks into the living room, head to where his girlfriend and her best friends are. They're about to watch a movie. Ino picks a piece and puts it in her mouth.

Ino: um, warm and crunchy... perfect~ here Y/N... Y/N?

Y/N: ah, yes?

Ino and Makoto look at each other and sigh. Makoto is Ino's boyfriend since high school, the three attended the same school and be friends. Makoto and Ino got close and get together.

Ino: Y/N... come on... don't think about him...

Makoto: Y/N, want me to hook you up with a friend of mine?
