Erin found herself back at the city, where she had once visited with her grandpa. That bustling, lively environment, and those magnificent towering buildings. She was in a hotel, and her grandpa was there too. He noticed her, and smiled.
"My, you have gone through the growth spurt! I am really getting old, aren't I? Let's enjoy this little trip, forgetting all our problems."
Her grandpa had been suffering from lung cancer last time she heard. She never knew the rest of the story, but she definitely never saw him again, till now. This was the time before the discovery, when he was hiding his pain behind those joyful eyes. But Erin won't say it out, he was right. It was time to enjoy.
'Unless..I am thinking it all wrong. I can't be, right?'

Jay was way better this time. But, he was in the middle of a....war? He saw huge crowds of people on horses and on foot, armored and ready to fight, coming nearer from both sides.
"Damn, of all places to have ended up in."
He ran. As fast as his legs could take him. But before he could actually make it out, the background froze, he found himself back in square one.
"Jay, running out from problems? Find the objective dear, oh and, two more fails and you get hit, you die." The voice spoke.
Jay looked about, the people were pretty far, it would be a while till they reached.
Running was not an option.
Fight in the war? Nope, the voice seemed more of a pacifist anyway.
Just standing there, observing the scenery? Hell nah.
Being the peacemaker? Risky, but the boards around him suggested it was the best option.
Jay found a piece of charcoal and clean whiteboards at a distance. Terribly out of place. But it implied his objective was clear. What he had to do was know the right words.

"Erin, why are you looking sullen? Didn't you say you enjoyed being in the city? Am I the reason—"
"No! It's nothing like that. It just feels..too good to be true.."
"Erin, you know I'll forever be there for you. You can always confide in your old friend, no? I hope you stay happy forever, with me or without me, no matter what. You have potential, you have a good conscience, and you can just shine throughout your life and it'll seem normal to you. So, be happy, okay?"
"Do you think hiding unpleasant news is bad, grandpa?" Erin asked, not meeting his eyes.
"Of course not. It depends on when you feel telling it. If you think you're too afraid of letting it out, then hold until you are comfortable enough. Just don't be too late, okay dear?"
'Don't be too late..be comfortable first..Erin you have a good conscience, no..? You'll know when to reveal...right? I wish I did..'
"Yeah, thanks grandpa. I'll rest for a while. Can we go out at the café?"
"Haha, sure! Everything for my little friend!"
This was going to be over soon. Erin won't even remember this scene again probably. She just had to hold on firmly. Yeah. Easy enough.
'Come on Erin, if Ajax can pet a dragon and you can figure out a puzzle, then this should be simple. I'll tell him, definitely.'

"I doubt she will though." The voice commented, as Erin and Jay's scenes continued playing.
"Why? And can you not make her go through this again!?" Demears said, trying to not think of his sister's reactions when their grandfather's disease was revealed.
"Just look at her. Heartbroken and confused. If she doubts herself, she can never bring herself to tell him. She can never force him to get it checked before it worsens too much, if she can barely believe in herself. Am I wrong?"
"And why does Jay need to die? I see no point!"
"If I ranked properly, then Erin is above the danger zone. Jay comes last, he will get eliminated if he doesn't make enough progress. It's better if he dies than continue a hopeless challenge forever."
Ajax grtited his teeth, and stayed silent.
