Ajax piled up the remaining of his notebooks and put them in his bag. He was so excited! Now that he could hear, there was so much to do! The world seemed so lively when we could finally hear and understand!

'Well, it also proved how wrong my pronunciations were.'

Whatever. It was like he reincarnated, and he was not planning to let small troubles ruin it.

"To the school I go!"

"Oi Dem! Got the tiffin?"

"Ah yes, make me do the work won't you? As you wish, princess."

Erin threw a pillow at Demears, and they both burst into fits of laughter. Demears brought back the two tiffin boxes, giggling, and placed them on the table.

"Nice. Good human."

"What do you see me as, huh?" he said, as he threw yet another pillow at her and commenced the war.

Jay was prepared with his best meal ever. Winter break was finally over, and their lives would resume to normal, or what it would seem now. He gave a few pats to his gryphling, and put the backpack on his shoulders.

Wait. Gryphling? Griffin? Mythical creatures? Yes! Erin wished that certain mythical creatures, would coexist with them! She further detailed her wish, saying no one would hunt or poach them, and their source of food will be something, which won't alter the current food webs! In other words, they would mix into the world as if they were always there! Habitats? She got that covered! Her main setup were the highest mountain ranges, where humans had not yet interfered, or deep unexplored caves.

'Ah Erin good job there. Or we'd have never met.' Jay thought, as he snuggled his gryphling once more before going out.

In the end, neither fantasy nor reality is the true winner. Without fantasy, the purpose of life is blank, dry, and grey. Without reality, there's nothing which can make a dream come true.

They must coexist, else one's existence will be purposeless either way.

When a child wishes, it is usually thought that the wish must be something 'unrealistic', and if an adult does so, it's 'mature'. This story, on the other hand, shows that the 'maturity' of someone's wish need not depend on their age.

Ajax's initial wish might have been to restore his ability of hearing, yes, but in the end, it was not so. Ajax chose for Jay to return, because as a friend, he could neither have accepted Jay dying in front of him, nor his hesitation earlier in accepting the Traveler's offer.

Demears chose to restore Ajax's hearing, because he knew well that Ajax had always been bullied for not being able to hear, and whether he said it or not, Ajax had suffered. As a friend, he felt it his duty to be selfless while choosing his wish.

Erin, who now could neither do anything for Ajax, nor Jay, or even her brother, however, did not have many options. As we read her thoughts, we saw that she could have asked for her grandfather to be back. However, doing so, would mean all tbe history would have to be rewritten, and that could cause countless butterfly effects. In the same way, she couldn't have thought of something too childish, as in, lacking details. Being a 9 year old, she couldn't have thought of too complex wishes either. As her age would permit her, she made the wish, and making sure that however she made the wish, the past would remain unaltered.
If these wishes do not make sense, then, oh tell me, what would you do if you were in their shoes?

Jay's main reason of having failed the challenges is simple, he was not emotionally prepared. The first round hit him much harder in comparison to the others, and it opened a reviving scar of his. For the next round, he did figure out the main setup, but if he had not received that big a blow earlier, he might have been faster to find the right spot. By the last challenge, Jay was simply too exhausted to think straight. We know not of the right path, but even so, he couldn't have done it, be it mental or physical.

Aroxl was someone who had suffered without any consolation. Even if he does not get a proper ending, and remains as a villain, it does not, and should not mean that he is to fully blame. His past was not satisfactory, and as we can read, he was trapped in a position he never asked for. It is not possible for someone who has been tortured and trapped for millennials to be very considerate or kind to anyone and everyone he meets. He treats every challenger equally, as he should. If some might seem too harsh, it is solely his loneliness to blame.

Eres was a dragon who just happened to meet Aroxl. He was not left dissatisfied. He found his own purpose. Aroxl was the first one who acknowledged his power, and not run away or attack like a maniac. He was going to show his gratitude through loyalty.

Experiences will always be the final judge of one's fate in the end.
