The sun shined bright, not a cloud on the sky, warming up June's face as she walked to work. It was a lot later than she was used to since Bucky had offered to open for her so that she could sleep in after last night's adventure. She made her way through the docks, greeting people who she knew as her customers.

"JJ!" A familiar voice called out behind her.

"Hi, Mr Johnson" she smiled at him, her neighbor was standing at the edge of the big fishing boat, waving down at her.

"You going to college this fall? He asked loudly over the sounds of the busy harbor. Mr. Johnson was probably her biggest fan, so excited to have her going to Harvard in the future, cheering her on every step of the way.

"No, not this year, maybe next year though!" She shouted as she held her hand up to cover the sun from her eyes. "If I get accepted".

"They would be stupid not to accept you, JJ! We need more girls like you in the world!" He started, the older man's wrinkles showing more in the sun as he grinned down at her. "You'll be leaving for Harvard, learning all the law stuff before you know it, and we will miss having you around when you do!"

"Oh, I'll be back here before you know it!" She assured him.

"No" he shook his head, "a girl like you don't belong in this hellhole" he continued gesturing his hands pointing out the ran-down harbor around them. "You belong in the big city! Doing big things!" She laughed at his dramatic words, there was no one to cheer her up like her old neighbor.

Entering the shop, the bell rang its familiar sound, Bucky was sitting on the register counter, chatting with a customer, flashing June a quick smile as to say 'hi' without interrupting the conversation with the old man standing in front of him. June smiled back, walking past them and into the back room, putting her bag down and throwing a chewing bone to Otis, he picked it up and walked out the room, back into the store. Confused as to why he would leave her side she walked after him, finding the customer had left and Bucky was squatting down on the floor, petting her dog.

"So now you've corrupted my dog, huh?" She giggled, as she placed her hands on the register and took a small jump, sitting herself down on the counter.

"I read somewhere that dogs can sense if their owner likes a person, and they will like that person too" He smirked at her, with that annoyingly flirty smile. "I mean you must like me a lot, considering" he gestured down at the dog, rolling over to his back getting belly-rubs from Bucky.

"You shouldn't believe everything you read, you know" She mocked back at him.

"Hey, you should be nice to me" He started as he stood up and crossed his arms, "I let you sleep in today, I was up all night too if you remember".

"Oh, really? I didn't notice" She answered him sarcastically. "You're not that notable" she smiled, tilting her head as he took a step towards her.

"Yeah?" He asked, locking his eyes with hers, leaning forward on his hands, placing each on one at the sides of her, leaning forward over her, tilting his head. "Well I'll make you notice me" he smiled that flirty way June hated.

She leaned back further, creating distance between their bodies, still holding eye contact, and before she could answer they were interrupted by the bell attached to the door. Bucky rapidly turned around, and leaned against the counter, now standing next to her.

"Is this what I pay you two to do?" Steve laughed as he entered the shop, obviously having seen the scene happening moments before.

"Nothing was happening" June assured. Jumping down from the counter, turning her head to Bucky, and glaring at him.
