Chapter 36

Giovanni's POV

I broke down the steel door and saw 2 guys huddling over Miognette. The sight made my blood boil and instantly shoot the men without hesitation. 

"Kill them...Kill them all!" I shouted,

Instantly my suits acted. Gunshots filled the warehouse. 

I ran towards Miognette's side and took off my coat. I wrapped it around her and carried her in my arms. 

"I'm so sorry I took too long." I caressed her gentle face and went outside.

I placed her in the car together with Rosa,

"Rosa, take care of her and head to the villa first," I told Rosa and walked back to the warehouse.

As soon as I entered, Domenico was grabbing a middle-aged guy maybe in his early 40's, by the collar.

"This is the asshole behind all this." He said while throwing the guy on the ground.

I stared at the old man in front of me.

He looked at me with fear.

All I heard was a ringing in my ear. Everything was silent. 

"Who the fuck are you?"

He looked up to me and said nothing.

My patience was wavering quickly and his face made me shiver in anger. I gave my gun to Dom and went closer to the man.

I kicked him in the face that sent a few teeth flying. 

He grunted in pain and was saying something but I was too mad at this asshole to listen.

"Dom, grab him and his men." I said and took my handkerchief and wiped my shoe. 

They instantly did what I asked them to do.

"Bring him to the warehouse. I'll deal with them later. For the meantime, Dom? do what you do best." 

I said and walked out of there. I hopped in my car and went to the hotel I checked in with. I moved Miognette from that room knowing it wasn't safe for her. Currently, Rosa is there with her. 

I wasted no time and made the engine roar. I was going 130 Km/h. I didn't care, I wanna see her and apologize.  

I couldn't help but blame myself for all of this. I shouldn't have reacted harshly. Damn it. 

*ring ring*

"What?" I answered the call,

"Sir, I know it's a bad time but Richard is a gay man, living near the club you saw the signorina in." 

The news from Jeremy wasn't helping at all. It made me even guiltier. I acted without thinking. If only I would've listen to her side, none of this would've happened. I acted too rashly and hurt her. Fuck, I gotta hurry.

A few minutes of driving I finally arrived at the new hotel.

I went inside the elevator and pressed the floor I told Rosa to put Mio in.

I approached the wooden door and knocked on it 3 times, as I instructed Rosa to only respond to triple sound knocks.

"Gio. She's resting. Her wounds are pretty bad." She reported and I saw Sofia and Freddy sitting on the couch looking worried for their friend.

"All of you, thank you for taking care of her while I'm not here. It's late at night so I'll take it from here." I said to everyone and they all seemed to understand. They went to their respective rooms and I went closer to Mio.

I stared at her bruised face and I could feel my heart broke in a million pieces. FUCK.

"I'm so sorry Tesoro mia. I was late, I failed to protect you. I'm sorry. BUT I have learned my lesson and I'm never letting you go. Never." I said while stroking her hair. I laid beside her and caressed her forehead.

Not long after I fell asleep. Knowing that she's finally in my arms, it made me feel at ease.

I stared at her. She looks too beautiful. I was gawking at her beauty and didn't notice me falling asleep. 

Miognette's POV

I woke up to the feeling of pain. Every part of my body ached like hell.

"Ugh...'' I grunted in pain. 

'' Are you okay?'' Gio said who was laying beside me. I turn to look at his handsome features and saw the genuinely worried look in his eyes. 

'' Yeah, I'm okay. What happened last night?'' asked him trying to get up.

"No, don't get up you're badly injured. Don't worry, I took care of it."

He said and held me down gently. 

I gazed at his eyes and tears started forming from his eyes.

"I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have let you go. I should've protected you. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."

Seeing the strong cold man like that turn into a broken crying man broke every inch of my body. It hurt to see him tearing up.

"No, no, it's not your fault okay? I should've been more careful."

I caressed his cheeks and raised his head so that his eyes can meet mine. He touched my hand and said,

"I promise from now on, I'll protect you. You have my word."

"Thank you, Gi-" I was about to thank him but he cut me off by smacking his lips against mine.

That was the best moment in the world.
