Y/n's POV

We were playing street puck cause well we need something other than the school. Goldberg complained about everything like always. Averman cracked his wise comments. Russ did his Knucklepuck any chance he could. It felt like it did at the Goodwill games and I was happy about that.

We played for a while when I heard Dwayne yell something.

"Hey it's Coach Bombay!" He said. I looked to the fence to see Charlie and Bombay. Dwayne and Russ got coach and Charlie to play some puck with us. Soon enough the game was going on and everyone was enjoying it. Both sides scored some. Seeing Charlie with us again felt awesome. Whatever Bombay said to him worked.

After playing for a while we decided to put Bombay in the trashcan. Then Charlie put the trashcan on Goldie's head. The ducks were acting like we were before this stupid school.....

Skip to the next game day

We were walking up to the Warriors bus for the game. Coach wrote down our names as we got inside. I sat beside Adam towards the middle of the bus. I wasn't paying attention til I heard a surprised coach.

"Conway?" I heard him say. I looked up to see Charlie standing at the doors of the bus.

"I want to be on the team coach." Charlie said. "I want to play two way hockey." "Can I come back?" Charlie asked.

"Take a seat were running late." Coach said smiling. "Let's go we got a game to catch." He said patting the bus driver. The bus started and Charlie walked down the aisle with everyone welcoming him back. I was watching Russ tease Charlie until I seen the headmaster come inside the bus.

"I almost missed you. Coach mind if I have a few words with your boys?" Dean asked coach. Boys? There's 3 girls too my dude.

"And girls." Julie said.

"Yes of course. And girls." Dean said.

"If you could make it quick, Dean. We're still running late." Coach said.

"I'm afraid this is important." Dean said standing up straight. "We have a board meeting scheduled tomorrow, and, well, you all are on the agenda. We have to think long-term here. What's in your best interest. Hard as it is for me personally, because you kids have been a breathe of fresh air around here, the board is going to approve of your withdrawal of your scholarships. Now you'll be welcome to stay through the end of the semester, but after that it will be necessary for you to enjoy other educational opportunities." Dean said. I looked to Adam who had the same look as everyone else.

"Dean can I have a word with you." Coach said.

"I think I have said all I need to say." Dean said.

"No, now." Coach said getting off the bus. Everybody started getting up to see what Coach was doing.

"..... from the alumni group? A bunch of aging pep clubbers?" I heard coach say.

"Ted, I'm trying to do you a favor. With those kids gone you'll get to pick your own team. Let's face it. The ducks are drowning." Dean said. Jeez that's nice.

"I got my team. Either they stay or I go." Coach said.

"We'll miss you ted." Dean said with a no emotion tone. Dean walked off leaving Coach there. The team said their remarks as we went to Coach. Someone said they know where Dean lives.

"We're just pawns, puppets for the stage show. Jesters to entertain the king, barnacles on the bottom of the-"

"Shutup." Russ cut off Averman putting a hand in front of Avermans face.
