Kayla's POV

"What did you do, Kayla? What were you thinking?" Cass' frustrated voice booms over the phone.

"What did I do? You think this is MY fault?" I ask back, spitting on every word.

"Well, you know, my ex boyfriend is lying in hospital--" she begins, but I frown.

"Ex Boyfriend?" I repeat, interrupting her.

"Oh, um.."

"You never told me that.."

"I..look...Kayla, I was going--"

"But you didn't..why's that? I've told you everything but--"

"Well, most of the time it seems to be all about you! It's like, I have no time to tell you in between all of your dramas! It's kind of pathetic, really. I've never seen you keep a real relationship, and every time something goes bad you come crying to ME! Why's that? Huh?!" She protests, and I sigh, trying not to cry.

"Because you promised..we promised." I remind her, and she goes silent.

"Kayla, please--"

"We both promised we'd tell each other everything, and anything. If we were in trouble, if we were feeling like crap, we'd turn to each other. We'd cry together, dream together, stick together. No matter how old we get, how mature we get, we can't forget, because promises last forever." I explain, feeling a tear run down my cheek.

Cass' POV

I couldn't take it. I was so mad with her!

"Ugh, Kayla. Don't try to make ME feel bad! I'm the one with my ex lying in hospital. I'm the one right next to him, comforting him. It's all YOUR fault this happened! YOUR fault! It seems you just can't take it! You can never accept the fact that sometimes you're wrong!" I yell, in to my phone.

"Cass..you..you don't..you have no freaking idea what happened--"

I sigh, pressing the hang up button. I slip it in to my back pocket, forcing open the door to his room.

I take a glance at the mirror on his wall, looking at my flustered, frowning face. My facial expression softens as I see Liam lying in bed, smiling weakly at me.

"Liam, I'm..really sorry about what happened. I can't believe Kayla would do this," I apologise, but he frowns.

"You..you think Kayla did this?" He asks, and I nod.

"Yes! Of course!" I reply.

"You think," he says, bringing his hand to the bruises on his face, wincing "Kayla is capable of doing this?"

"Um..yes.." I mumble, nervously. Of course it was Kayla's fault.

"Cass..this isn't Kayla or Olly's fault," he explains, and I flinch.

"Wh-what?" I stammer, and he shakes his head.

"This was all my fault," he admits, and I frown, shaking my head.

"No, no, no, no, no, no." I deny, shaking my head like crazy.

"Don't speak crazy, I know it seems like it's all your fault, you feel like you're to blame but, no! This was Kayla and Olly!" I say, still shaking my head. I chuckle, nervously.

"I got jealous, Cass. I went up to Olly and beat him up, I was about to hit Kayla, but Olly stopped me by knocking me out. It was my fault, Olly was only defending, Kayla had nothing to do with this," he explains, all in one breath. I keep still, and the room is silent. I can feel the air getting tense, and I shake my head, again. I look down, trying to take it all in.
