Cleo's POV
"No!" I shouted as I jumped up, gasping for breath and drenched in sweat as the moon shone down on me and the sound of crickets reached my ears. I flung back the covers and dashed to Sara's room seeing her sound asleep in her bed making me sigh in relief, slowly I crept back from her room and down into the kitchen finding Leon there with a frown on his face. "So... this is why I keep finding you outside in the early hours of the morning..." He said in a quiet voice making me duck away from him and grab a glass to fill with water. "I'm just not tired." I said making him huff, following me. "Is this because I'm leaving in a few days?" he asked making me sigh softly. "Partly, yes..." I mumbled making him sigh as he moved behind me and rested his head gently against my shoulder rubbing up and down my arms. "Cleo, sweetheart, he's dead... he will remain dead, you and Chris both told me you watched him burn with your own eyes." Leon said making me nod, "I know... I just worry... if he survived, he'd know where we are, he'd know who you were.... He'd know how to get into your head... to get you to leave." I said as I took a deep breath in to stop the tears. "He'd know how to get rid of you." I said making Leon press a gentle kiss to my cheek as he took a hold of my hand, seeing our wedding rings shine in the moonlight. "I promised you. I will never leave you and Sara... not after everything. Not now." He whispered as I nodded, "Sorry..." I mumbled making him smile. "Don't be, just don't bottle your feelings about things okay?" Leon said as I nodded smiling up at him, I turned bopping his nose gently. "Make sure you speak to the president about our time off." He nodded, pressing a kiss to my lips. "Make sure you don't leave me waiting too long." I nodded before releasing him and looking up at the clock before making a shooing motion with my hands. "Back to bed, Mr Kennedy. You have a long flight tomorrow." I said making him nod and turn taking a small glance back at me as I let out a breath and my smile dropped once I heard our bedroom door close, my phone beeped showing one message had come through. Opening the message made me scramble to get ready to leave the home. Shoving my shoes on I tip toe over to the door and exit the house. Rushing down to the car I jump in and sigh heavily looking at the woman across from me. "What could you have for me now Ada?"
Ada smiled as she pulled the car away from the drive, looking over me for a moment before her eyes turned back to the road. "We need to leave now." She muttered quickly making my eyes widen as I looked at her. "I've put in place childcare for Sara, do not worry. You told Leon you were leaving early anyway, I'm sure he will understand." I sighed nodding slowly. "What do you need from me?" She pulled up slowly to a red light, before pulling a file out and throwing it into my lap. I picked it up and began to flick through seeing how a male, unnamed as of now, was setting up to infect places across the world with a virus similar to my own. "Where is he going to strike first?" I asked Ada as we continued on our way. "Sorry love, but I just need your blood." She said before shoving a cloth under my nose as I tried to fight away from her hand and took a deep breath in from the rag, falling asleep within moments.
When I awoke again I was tied by my wrists to a wall making me frown, looking around I sighed seeing nothing to help cut me free. I pulled myself up, kneeling as I bit at the restraints. Finally free I looked around before escaping from the room and making it back to the surface and finding myself in a graveyard. "Hey, you!" a voice called making me turn to a person waving from the front of the church. "Come on!" I nodded turning quickly and running inside allowing the warmth of the room to warm me for a moment before turning to the person as they slammed the door shut. "Thank you..." I mumbled as they nodded. "You any good with a good?" another asked making me nod, "snipers..." I said making the male raise an eyebrow but nod all the same and hand me a gun. "The place is over run, help us pick some of them off." I nodded, shifting to move over to a window with a sigh. "Where are we?" I asked making the male turn to me with a small frown. "Tall oaks." They said making my eyes widen but I turned to the window ignoring the people around me as I saw the zombies approaching. Looking down I saw that I still had my bracelet on and with a smile I pressed the button which popped out showing an earpiece. Popping it in I frowned, fiddling with it trying to get in contact with HQ. "Hunnigan..?" I asked receiving static for a moment before she answered. "Cleo?" she asked making me smile. "Hunnigan what the hell is going on?" I asked hearing her clacking on a keyboard quickly before she answered me. "You're in Tall Oaks? A Virus has been used, using your blood. Cleo... god you've been MIA for thirty days!" she said making me stop blinking slowly. Thirty days....? It's been thirty days?! "Leon and another agent are on their way to your area. Stay put." Hunnigan said before ending the transmission making me give a small sigh.
