Leon's POV

"Don't let them down." I said to Chris as our communication ended, Helena turned to me worry in her features. "Are you OK?" She asked making me nod as I turn to her. "Let's just find the survivors and get the hell out of here." I said turning behind us, "Right Cleo?" My eyes widen not seeing Cleo standing behind us with a frown. "Where the hell?" My eyes looked up to see her being carried off by someone, with a shake of my head I turn back to Helena. "Let's go, Cleo will catch up I'm sure." Helena gave one quick nod before a male solider began to shout us over, helping us to escape and avoid the gas. We made it through, losing one soldier who sacrificed himself to save the rest of us. Running down to the jeep, myself and Helena got in the passenger seats as the other solider began to drive us as far as he could get us. Silence fell over us as I began to twist around my wedding ring wishing for just once that when this was all over that Cleo, Sara and I could begin to live our normal life. I felt Helena's hand gently take my shoulder and give it a small squeeze. "I promise to get you back to your daughter." She said making me give a curt nod as the Jeep came to a stop. "This is as far as I can get you, the tower is right up ahead. You two keep going. I'm gonna head back and try to find what's left of my team." The solider said as Helena and I got out, "Thank you." Helena said making me nod as I looked up at the huge tower not far from us. "Be careful, all right?" The soldier asked as we began to run off.

The sound of a truck horn made me jump forwards, just barely dodging the oncoming truck as it skidded to a stop and turned over on its side liquid leaking. "Leon!" I heard making me turn to see Cleo sprinting towards me as I blinked quickly. Shit... I thought as the barrel exploded, throwing Helena and Cleo and I flying backwards onto the windshield of a car. I groaned as I looked up, seeing the burning around us and all the zombies made me reach forward and grip my gun as I slowly turned to the women next to me, Cleo was out cold as Helena slowly got to her knees rubbing at her head. I crawled over lifting Cleo up gently with one arm wrapped around my shoulder. "Come on. I got you." I mumbled to her as Helena stood slowly too looking at Cleo. "is she...?" She asked making me look down. "She was in front of us, she must have taken most of the blast... She should be okay." I covered my eyes as a helicopter flew closer to us, shining a light down. "Leon! Its..." Helena said, holding her side in pain as Cleo's head rolled slightly. "Ada! I thought she was dead." Ada gave a small salute before she began to provide some covering fire allowing for Helena, Cleo, and I to escape from the zombies. I stumbled along, the weight of Cleo's limp body dragging me down as I continued on through the silent alleyway. "C'mon, it's not over yet." I mumbled to Cleo before the beams we were on broke, and her body dropped from my grip. "Leon...?" I heard her mumble, eyes blinking wildly as she tried to gain her focus. I moved over, grabbing her shoulder as she shook her head. "I'll only slow you down. Just let me rest here... you and Helena.. go." She mumbled, as I smiled holding out a hand to her gently as she blinked finally looking at me properly. "You're not getting' off that easy. Come on." I said before she reached forward and grabbed my arm as I grabbed hers and helped her back to your feet as Helena smiled. "You know... I'm beginning to get jealous of you two." She said making Cleo give a lazy smile as she stumbled a little with her walking. "You shouldn't be... it doesn't help that I'm not only hauling myself our but our baby too..." She said sleepily making both Helena and I stop and look at the woman in my arms. "Wait what?" I said before Cleo's Virus kicked in and began to heal her making her meet my eyes gently. "Surprise?" She mumbled making me frown. "How...?" I asked as Helena looked between us, excitement growing in her features. "The same way as Sara and the cocoons you see around us..." She gently patted her abdomen with a smile. "I could get thrown halfway across China and our bean would still survive." She said as I slowly began walking again. "You know this means you broke our deal..." I said in a whisper making Cleo smile. "I know... but to be fair, I only found out the day before I was kidnapped." She whispered back as I shimmed us through a small gap. "After all we've been through, it'd be a waste to give up now." I said making Helena nod as she worked to remove the wooden beams to the door. Once inside I looked left then right then to Helena, "Let's try this way." I said, Cleo still hanging off of my neck with a groan. It makes more sense now, ever since we got here her virus hasn't been healing her half as fast. "I can hear the cogs turning in your head when you look at me Kennedy." Cleo said making me smile at the nickname. "Just realising why you haven't been healing faster enough." We shuffled past a dead soldier and crawled through another broken area before I placed a gently hand on Cleo's back looking at her sweating face and glowing eyes. "Let's take a break." I said causing Helena to nod slowly as she sat down, nursing her sore side. I gently shifted Cleo so that she was lent up against where Helena was who offered her a shoulder to lean on, "It's fine Cleo, I'm not hurt on this side." I heard Helena mutter as I stood properly as I raided the Jeep next to us.
