Chloe's POV;
"Move!", I screamed at Cameron running up the stairs to our door number. My hands were shaking as I twisted the knob and barreled straight towards Jack's room. Our room.
"Please please be okay.", I whispered to myself cracking the door open. He sat up straight staring right through me. I frowned and embraced him tightly.
I realized I never ever wanted to let Jack slip through my fingers like that again.
That could've been our last conversation, our last time looking at each other, the last time I would see those beautiful brown eyes and that messy hair.
The last of him.
"I meant it you know. When I told you I loved you, it wasn't just to stop you from jumping.", I said putting my chin on his shoulder. It was big and strong, I closed my eyes and took in the smell of cologne and alcohol mixed together on him.
He sighed, "The one thing I could never bring myself to do was actually jump off. That part was too hard for me cause I realized I was afraid of dying. Feeling the pain. Missing out on the world. Because even though my life is a piece of shit Chloe..", he looked down at me and kissed my forehead.
And for that split second I felt at peace again.
"Even though it's a mess, I still find something beautiful on this earth that stops me everytime."
We turned to hear a knock on the door. It was Cameron but when he saw me he winked and walked away.
"What was it this time?", I asked. Jack took my hands, they were so frail and petite compared to his. I missed how his warm, rough fingers would hold tightly onto mine as if they were glued together in a perfect fit. I closed my eyes and took in this moment.
If something had gone wrong 10 minutes ago I wouldn't be having it.
"You.", he said.
Nash's POV;
"HAYES!!!", I screamed chasing him into the bathroom but right before I could wrap my hands around that kids throat he slammed the door laughing like a little girl.
"What's wrong?", Alyssa said running into the room with Shawn.
"Tell your BOYFRIEND to get out of the bathroom and give me my camera!!!", I whined stamping my feet around the room. She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.
"He's not my boyfriend first of all. And stop whining like a little brat.", she smiled and walked up to the door.
"Wanna go play basketball?", Shawn asked me.
I liked spending time with Shawn, he was real chill down to earth guy. Funny and sarcastic, but he knew his boundaries not to be a dick.
"Sure. When Hayes gives me back my camera.", we both looked back to see what Alyssa was doing.
And just like that, she had my camera in one hand, and Hayes's hand in the other.
"Problem solved.", she threw the camera at me and I caught it glaring at Hayes. He slipped me the fingers and before I could respond pulled Alyssa across the room to watch a movie. I opened the front door grabbing a basketball with Shawn and left.
Erik's POV;
Finally, home.
I relaxed on the couch with my hands behind my head thinking about the crazy day it had been.
First I meet this totally hot chick at the beach and her friends, then she talks to me, then we're getting some guy to stop from jumping off of his balcony who also turns out to be Chloe's ex lover or something, but then she told me to call her.
I blankly stared at the ceiling and went to go wipe the sweat off my face when I noticed black marks on my hand.
'Chlo: 201-124-0708'
I played around with the piece of paper and sucked on my lip. Should I?
Whatever, I saved her number into my phone and figured I'd wait a day or two. Give her some time to think after today. I rolled over and closed my eyes to take a nap, but for some reaosn I couldn't get this girl out of my mind. I wanted to know her story. Her life. Her favorite things to do at the beach and when it rained, or what she did when she was upset to take her mind off of things.
She was a mystery I wanted to solve.
