Ch. 8 - Ganged Up

Looking around, you feel a bit uneasy and anxious as you see seniors laughing, smoking and playing games similar to poker but with a twist.

You bring your attention back to Itachi and his friends who had a goth and grunge aesthetic like Itachi.

"What took you so long? And why'd you bring a twink?" A friend gestured, pointing at you.

Your cheeks ripen a little out of embarassment. You've never been called that before or ever thought you were but then again, you are fairly slim and aren't fitting in with the theme.

They all wore dark clothing with a few hints of colour while you stood there next to Itachi wearing the most average Joe clothes.

It wasn't your fault, you weren't wearing some fashionable clothing. You were dressed for class, that's all.

Another friend from the table looked, bottom to top, before making eye contact with you.

"An average twink of all things..." They snickered at their own remark.

'I'm being attacked and for what.' You thought.

Suddenly, Itachi holds you by the shoulder and brings you closer to his chest. You weren't expecting ANY of this.

"This is Y/N. You know, the one I talked about earlier?" He said, eyeing all his friends.

'Earlier? Earlier?!' You started to panic in your head. 'What the fuck does that mean? I've only known you for a day-'

Your thoughts are interrupted by Kisame.

"Huh. Where'd your other friend go?" He asked, tilting his head slightly.

'Is he talking about Juro? Why this guy asking about my new bestie?' You thought.

"If you mean Juro, they aren't in all my classes. Only a few. He just happened to not be in my maths class!" You wave your hands around a bit, giving off an awkward tone. This place was not for you and these people were not your type.

"Juro..." You hear Kisame whisper your friend's name under his breath. It makes you extremely uncomfortable.

Spacing out, your anxiety builds up the more you think about class and being late. Even though, you're long past late. Regardless, you still didn't want to miss class even if it was a subject you hated. Can't be giving yourself a bad reputation towards the teachers.

You start to think up scenarios in your head as Itachi is busy talking to his friends as if they've already forgotten your existence. Thinking up ways to leave with full confidence.

Each scenario is better than the last and you've thought up the words pretty well. Only problem was... execution.

You take a deep breath in, puff up your chest and prepare for your wise words.

"I dOn't thINk-" You swiftly slap and cover your mouth while Itachi and his friends stare at you. Your voice really cracked and ruined everything.

"You good?" Itachi asks, raising a brow.

"Nah." And with that, you run off. Literally.

Sprinting to the doors, you make your way out and slam them behind you. Seems actions are better and strong than words in this situation.

Walking through the halls, you realised you forgot the one thing you needed to get to class. Direction.

You were as lost as you were before.

"Fucking hell..." You huffed.

Looking around it was silent and no one seemed to be nearby, ready to give up you look for signs pointing to the cafeteria.

You make it to an empty cafeteria accompanied by humming vending machines and lights. Sitting yourself down near the window, you placed your bag and books beside you, and finally drop your head onto the cool table in defeat.

"Uuuugh..."

You cover your head with your arms and frowned underneath.

But from afar, you could hear the footsteps of someone reaching the cafeteria echo form the hallway. Hopefully, it was another distressed student.

Meanwhile, Itachi and his friends were still shocked and frozen at your sudden leave.

"Guess he ain't good..." A friend said.

Snapping out of it, Itachi shrugged and smirked, sitting with his friends.

"He sure knows how make an exit, huh" Kisame said to Itachi.

"Yeah. He sure does."
