Ch. 7 - Late

You and Naruto were racing each other down the halls, going as fast you could. You bumped into a few seniors and you could see the door to your class room until you were both stopped.

"What do you two think you're doing? Running down the halls and bumping into students?" He had a strict tone and had his arms crossed, frowning at us.

"Sorry, sir. But we're both late for class and really need to go!" Naruto chuckled, scratching the back of his head.

"Don't want to hear it. Being late to school is no excuse run or bump other students out of the way." The teacher said.

"We don't mean to cause trouble! We are still new to the school." You said, half smiling.

The teacher sighed and placed his hands on his hips. "Very well. You both have been let off for now but don't rush or be late to class again." You both nodded with big smiles.

"If your teacher asks, say you were with me. I'm Mr. Umino. Now both of you hurry up for your class!"

"Thank you!" You and Naruto both bowed before running through the halls again.

"What did I just tell you two?!" Mr. Umino yelled in the background.

After the wild goose chase, you and Naruto had you finally make it to your class and apologize for your lateness.

Luckily, your teacher showed mercy on you but both of you had to stay behind and clean up after everyone else.

"Man, next time wake up earlier, Y/N" Naruto sighed. You turn and give Naruto a "are you serious" look. "What?" He says.

"Alright, this class looks clean enough! Both of you are free to go, just no more lateness, okay?" The teacher said happily.

"Thanks, Mr. Ebisu." You said, scratching the back of your head. "I don't how much longer I could take this, idiot." You mumbled under your breath.

"Huh?" Naruto said clueless of what's going on.

Both of wave goodbye to Mr. Ebisu as you leave the classroom and finally wave each other goodbye.

"Catch you later, Y/N!" Naruto says as he runs off through the halls. You watch him make a quick turn and hear Mr. Umino yelling echo through the halls.

"Idiot." You giggled quietly. Walking the opposite way, you head off to find Juro for your next class.

Walking through the empty halls, you finally admit you were lost. You're so used to following someone else around like Juro or Naruto that you've never actually had a proper self-tour of the building.

You start to become anxious, speeding up your walk until make a sharp turn bumping into to someone. Causing you to fall into the cold floor.

"Fuck, I'm so so..." Rubbing your head and opening your eyes, you realise the person infront of you didn't fall over or even flinch. You slowly travel your eyes up to their face and it's none other than...

"Itachi!" You quickly get up, nervously holding onto the arms of your backpack tightly as you spoke. "I didn't mean to-"

Itachi holds out his hand to your face, stopping you and gives a gently smile.

"It's fine, Y/N." Putting his hand into his pocket. He stared at you for a bit and you couldn't help but awkwardly smile. Itachi let out a light chuckle.

"You're lost, aren't you?" He asked.

"Y-yeah..." You struggled to admit.

"Figured. Need some help? You can follow me back to the dorms, you should be able to find your way back from there?" He held his hand out to you, waiting for you response.

"Sure!" You happily said. Awkwardly shaking his hand to confirm your response as he stared at it. It was obvious his intention wasn't to shake hands.

After a long walking, you both reach two hall doors that you don't recognise. Itachi opened them and revealed a room filled with seniors, pong tables and the most noticeable of all, bottles of alcohol.

"I thought we were going to the dorms?" You asked, anxiously.

"Don't worry." He told you. " We'll be there later for sure." He whispered to himself.

You looked around the dim room, intoxicated with the scent of bitterness and adolescence. Walking slowly behind Itachi until you reached a table where all his friends sat. Some you recognised while others you didn't.
