Ch. 13 - Late Night Purchase

It was the day before graduation and you were feeling nervous. Hungry nervous. For once, you spent the whole day studying and nothing else. No food, water, friends, nothing.

But you couldn't help it. Too many things were on your mind. So many questions that didn't have answers.

'Are you really graduating tomorrow?'

'Does Kakashi even want a relationship with you after school?'

'Am I really graduating with Naruto?'

Your head kept rambling on and on until you heard a low rumble fill your silent room.

All your friends, including Naruto and Juro, had gone out to a party at Sakura's house. It was a before graduation party in a way but you didn't go out of tiredness.

With your tummy growling, calling for food, you stood up and got dressed.

"A late snack would be good right about now."

Walking out the building, you felt a strong, chilling breeze push you back. It was really fucking cold outside but thankfully, you dressed prepared.

Eventually, you arrived at a late night grocery. The jingle of the door sung as you walked through the sliding doors.

Looking at the counter, you saw the cashier asleep and huddled in their arms.

You rolled your eyes, grabbed a basket and went through the aisles in search of food. Finally, you found the perfect aisle, filled with 1-min noodles, unhealthy snacks and drinks. Your stomach was screaming heaven.

You dragged your arm along the shelf, gathering your favourite noodles and chips with a classic drink of your choice.

Once everything had been collected and done, you were ready to wake up that cashier but accidentally walked into someone. You stumbled but didn't fall.

"Sorry about that-" You said, tiredly but opened your eyes only to see a very old friend. "Itachi?"

He chuckled. "Am I that old?" But his tone changed when he got a better look at you, "You seem tired?"

You awkwardly smile, thinking it'll distract the bags under your eyes while groaning.

"Just been studying and preparing for the future!"

Itachi glanced at you, up and down. You were dressed messily and unkempt. It was obvious, you rushed to get dressed or just grabbed whatever was on the floor. He smirked and gestured behind him. "Let's go eat. On me."

With no hesitation, you nodded. After buying your groceries, you spent the night with Itachi. After eating over 4 bowls of spicy ramen and dumplings, Itachi stops you. For the sake of your health and his wallet. Taking you outside, you both go for a walk in the cold, starry night.

"So how's school been?" Itachi starts.

"Eh. Not much has happened really. Spent the first good years as a troublemaker before turning into a retired menace!" You joked. It made him chuckle.

"Found anyone~?" He playfully nudged you and raised a brow.

"Did Juro tell you?!" You blurted out, loudly.

Quickly covering your mouth, you turned away embarrassed and ashamed. 'You're a fool.' You thought to yourself.

"I'll take that as a yes..." You both fell silent as the wind passed until Itachi stopped in his tracks.

"Well, I better get going. I have work in the morning."

"Oh, yeah you're an adult..." You said, blankly.

Itachi huffed with a grin and waved as he began to distance himself opposite from you, waving. "See you later, Y/N."

While walking, you stumbled into a park. You wanted to take your time a little.

Looking up, you gazed in awe at the bright moon and the glittery night. Clouds moving ever so slowly with strong, chilling gusts of howling winds flying past you.

You made it to a bench lit up by a street light right above. Sitting on the bench, you scrolled through endless media. Some good and some bad. Opening Wattpad, you look at the time.

10:43pm

"One read won't hurt." You mumbled.

But like usual, you were wrong...After reading, you got up and stared at the moon before walking back to school.

You went to check the time on your phone and yelled.

"ITS 1AM?! HOW FUCKING LONG WAS I READING-"
