Like most of the boys Aaron was not expecting the fame. He was expecting a few people to see his videos and think they were completely stupid.
Most people his age were worrying about girls and partying yet Aaron was worrying about keeping his Vine life away from his school life.
People in the past who have tried YouTube got bullied so if nobody found out about it nobody could judge him.
Of course they found out and they did bully him, they bullied him for the stupid six second videos he posted.
He didn’t stop his video’s though, he continued and got more and more views as more people found him. the call for Magcon shocked him for life.
Somebody like him would never get a chance like this. He even thought it was a joke at first.
In the end Magcon made him nine new friends, who all enjoyed doing the same thing as him.
It had been two weeks since everything had happened. A regular day turned to hell by fans.
Of course the fans meant the world to the boys as they wouldn’t be where they are today without them but sometimes their too much.
Nash was still in the hospital and Shawn was still missing. Apparently he had contacted his family who told the boys that he wanted to cool off.
All the boys had left Nash in LA to attend Hayes’ funeral service in North Carolina. They wanted to wait for Nash but it seemed hopeless.
Aaron sat in the Grier’s living room waiting to go out to the backyard for the service. Since the body was never found it was just a small family thing.
The house seemed quiet despite the seventy five or so people crammed in. With no Skylynn running around and no boys screaming from slap cams and Vines the house was quiet.
Mrs Grier politely told everyone to make their way to the yard and the room empty quickly. The boys and Aaron where the only ones left.
Cameron sighs and walks out, leaving the rest of the boys to follow. Aaron was hesitant, Hayes and himself had always been the closest out of them all and it wasn’t easy for Aaron to believe he was truly gone.
Making his way to the back door he trips and falls into a old picture from the first Magcon Hayes attended. Picking it up he quickly placed it on the counter and rushes outside. Rushing to his seat in the front row the service started.
Nash’s and Hayes’ mother said a few words, as did his dad and Cameron. Aaron heard his name being called but hesitated to stand.
Eventually he got up and stood at the podium by the garden. Taking a deep breath and looking out at the small crowd he started his speech.
“Hayes wasn’t like any other kid, he was special. He was the one who enjoyed being around people and was kind to everyone. He was always the one to stop a fight and to make us smile. I’m beyond shocked he’s gone and it’s hard for me to believe it but instead of talking about him being gone I’m going to talk about what he was like alive.”
Taking another breath and chucking the speech he had spent hours writing he continued, “Hayes was like my younger brother, always pissing Bart off- I’m sorry for swearing here- and being a pain in the ass. He was himself though and not very many people now can say they were themselves their whole lives.”
“Hayes never cared what people thought, he was the one to do anything even if it made him look stupid. He was one of a kind, he did’t deserve to die. Hell he should still be here yelling at us to all stop crying,” He told the crowd as a few tears slipped down his face.
“He would tell us that life was precious and to never spend it doing something you don’t want to do, l will always live to is words. I will never forget him,” Aaron ran off the podium and into the house again.
Making his way threw the house and to the front door something caught his eye. The staircase. Memories of sending Hayes down in hockey gear, all the boys mattress surfing down, and most of all the mornings when they would race down the steps for breakfast.
Walking up the stairs Aaron’s legs naturally walk towards Hayes’ room. Pushing open the door the room looks the same as it did the last time he was there.
Aaron walked over to the bed and sat down. Seeing something sticking out of the mattress he reaches forward grabbing it.
Paper, a diary of some sort? Aaron knew it was wrong to read it but Hayes was gone anyways. If he didn't someone else would.
Flipping open to a random page he started to read threw it.
Dear book..
It’s currently the middle of summer and the boys are all here, we just came back from Magcon New York and are chilling here until next weekend.
Something’s been off about Nash, he’s been acting weird.. almost sad?
Catching up from school work is really stressful, especially since it’s the middle of summer and I’m still catching up. Do they even count the grades anymore?
The boys want to watch movie so bye,
~Hayes. B Grier
Aaron remembered that day, he thought it was just him that fund Nash acting weird.
Running out of Hayes’ room, book in hand, he ran down the stairs and into the once again crowded house.
He ran straight into Taylor almost knocking him over, “Woah are you okay?”
“Look I just found-“ He started to explain when they hear a scream from the kitchen, running in they saw the boys mother holding the phone.
“Nash just woke up-“ He voice got blocked out.
Nash was alive, his brother was not.
Aaron broke, this wasn’t fair, life wasn’t fair, and he was more than done.
Five were down, how many more to go?
