Chapter five

Zelk POV

I don't understand how, but every time Mega is near me I suddenly stop coughing and the second he leaves my throat starts getting damaged again.
Fuck you, henahiki or whatever.
"I t-think we should s-start like getting our g-gifts for M-mega" I reminded Zak as we went back to his house.
"I already got him gifts from the both of ᵈᵒᵒʳ ˢˡᵃᵐ us" He reassured me as we went in his house and I started running in the bathroom again.
"We really need to do something about your… thing. Have you read anything online or anything..?" He asked me whilst I walked back downstairs, not realising blood was running down my mouth.
"I d-did but ᶜᵒᵘᵍʰ uhm-" "What do you mean 'uhm'?! If there's a solution, go do it right now?!!?" I got cut off from him.
"What is it anyways..?" He calms down.
"I h-have to ᶜᵒᵘᵍʰ confess ᶜᵒᵘᵍʰ" I sighed, my cough being worse than before.
"Then go do it?!!" He looked at me with his tired from all-nighters eyes, begging for me to listen to him.
"I-I'm sorry.. I ᶜᵒᵘᵍʰ really ca-ᶜᵒᵘᵍʰ" I got cut off by my usual urge to throw up, that was slowly getting far worse than before.
I ran to the bathroom once again, but when I went back downstairs Zak surprisingly didn't mention the conversation from earlier.

3rd person/Authors/Adel's POV

Mega's birthday had slowly been getting closer and closer, it was now actually the day. Zelk knew he'd have to do something soon,but he was too terrified to confess.
Zak had been trying his best to get Zelk to save himself, but with no luck whatsoever.
Every day at work was getting harder by the hour, until Mega wanted to check up on Zelk.

Mega POV

It's been quite a while since I've had a proper conversation with Zelk outside of work, so I thought it would be generous, and since I was already done with my work for the day, to check up on him.
I slowly start opening his office door, only to see him sitting on his desk.
'Kinda sus, but eh, it's Zelkam after all' I brushed it off as I sat on the chair in front of him.
"Hi Mega!" He smiled at me, visibly struggling to do something.
"Hey uh, we haven't talked in a bit, how have you been?" And the conversation went on for approximately two hours.
"Are you excited for your birthday?" He asks me out of the blue.
"Well, you know my parents, they haven't done anything for my or Ashley's birthdays in quite a while. So yeah I'm pretty excited because they've been more calm lately."
"Oh, I'm glad..!" He seemed low-key sad, but once again, I brushed it off.
"It's 5pm,we should head back home, See ya' later" I smiled as I walked out of his office and he immediately started picking out something.
